Why is there no flyable UNSC vehicle in MP/F?

Hi guys i don’t know if anyone else has asked this, but my jimmies are extremely rustled after i heard there is no flyable UNSC vehicle in Forge or MP. I know there is still the banshee but i had thought up a whole thing i could do in forge like UNSC stations and bases but that may as well go out the window because there’s no flying UNSC vehicle, some of you may say " why not build a covie base because there is banshees" my answer to this is that i prefer to fly things that have the ability to transport players as well as flying things that aren’t completely pilot controlled so that the Vehicle has more of a team operated vehicle instead of a lone wolf operated vehicle, so back to my question will there be any flyable UNSC vehicles in the future or are we just going to be stuck with the banshee cause i know that it’s a small thing to have a cry over but flying UNSC vehicles is what makes the game/'s for me.

With the information we have now, we’re stuck with the Banshee. That doesn’t bother me too much, but I’m always a sucker for more options, so it would be nice for future maps to have a flying UNSC vehicle of some kind.

^Like a ballanced broadsword.

The way I’ve seen it is that when you just stop and compare the Banshee to the Hornet or the Falcon, the Banshee is just better. While I was expecting the Hornet to return with the Falcon style flight instead of the crappy look up/down to ascend/descend I’m not overly bummed about it. But it could have used the bumpers for flight control and then it just levels out and hovers when you let go.

An unnerfed Falcon or Hornet would be more than a match for a Banshee. I think its a shame that we have neither in H4, as variety is always good.

Broadsword is the successor to the Longsword and Sabre projects, I imagine. We’ve never had reason to fly those (outside the Sabre for campaign, and I imagine we’ll get to fly the Broadsword.) However, the Broadsword’s main purpose, as stated on the Interactive Guide, is low to zero-gravity condition combat.

I’m more interested in the Lich, to be honest, but I doubt we’ll be able to fly that either.

The Lich is like 40 stories tall. I don’t think we’ll be flying that thing.

40 stories? No, not that big. I don’t think there’s been any dimensions given for it. Regardless, we get to pilot the Mammoth in campaign, and that’s likely just as big if not bigger.

The Lich houses 1 pilot, 1 weapons officer, and 30-40 passengers. Needless to say it’s likely not in Matchmaking.
The Mammoth houses 3 crew and 20-30 passengers, yet also has room for vehicles and the size to mount a land-based MAC cannon.

40 stories was an exaggeration, but according to Halo Nation, it’s 164 feet long. Based on visible proportions, that would make it around 100 feet tall. That’s a solid 10 stories.

Also, is the Mammoth actually pilotable? I’ve seen footage of the MC manning the cannons up top, but I haven’t heard confirmation that you can actually drive the thing.

I should have mentioned that I strongly assume we get to pilot the Mammoth. If memory serves it’s been mentioned that we do, but that might have been speculation.

As for the Lich, I don’t really trust Halo Nation’s measurements. But seeing it in comparison to a Phantom, it’s undoubtedly large. However it’s long. Were it 164 feet long, for it to be 100 feet tall it would have to be near spherical, or at least very close to. Arguing something frivolous, I know, but I don’t think it’s 100 feet tall.

Quite frank(hehe)ly, I didn’t like UNSC flying vehicles in MP. The hornet was incredibly boring. The falcon was pretty cool but it got shot down so quick with the dmr way to quick.
Not to mention they wouldn’t fit in the maps.

“Better” is subjective. I had a lot more fun flying the Hornet and Falcon than the Banshee. And the Hornet and Falcon have more use in machinima, since they can carry two additional players, while the Banshee is a single-seater.

I’m really disappointed that there isn’t even an equivalent or replacement for it.

The latest bulletin stated that they will be taking a new approach with title updates. So, who knows what kind of stuff they’ll add in future DLC. :3
