Why not replace it with slide? Since it’s basically cosmetic and serves no actual purpose.

it’s not a massive difference, but over larger areas you’ll see your allies peel away from you. it’s probably more like 10-15% and again it changes the trajectory of your jump

As i’ve said in other threads I love that they’ve buffed BMS and made it so sprinting is now an actual choice instead of being forced upon the player
If sprint is going to stay in halo then this is a pressty good balance

Halo 5 had about 15-20% based on timing. Infinite has about 3 % times

in H5 if you weren’t sprinting you moved like you were in concrete boots. BMS was so slow which means if you were not sprinting you were putting yourself at a detriment.
Now with incresased BMS I don’t feel as tho I’m forced to sprint to be on an even field with mobilitiy
I can choose when to sprint and when not to and not be put at a disadvantage.

It’s 3 percent difference in speed, it’s cosmetic
I find the sprint really annoying in this regard because it just looks stupid. Its like you see someone walking, and then they just start jogging in place like crazy but they don’t go any faster.
In first person you press to sprint and your dude just goes absolutely -Yoinking!- ham with the screen shake and weapon movement and you can barely even tell you are going faster. It feels so disconnected and awful. Also makes it hard to tell if you are going to be sprinting or not when you land from a jump, which can end in accidental crouches instead of slides etc.
I don’t really care for sprint in halo, I think having a faster sprint will make it hard to balance maps and not add to the gameplay. But I really question whether its worth even having sprint when it doesn’t feel like a sprint, and most people use it just to slide. I feel like it would be so much simpler to just have a slide button and everyone moving at the same speed, and then you can simplify the motion sensor detection too.
Sprint is handy for making some jumps in the game but isn’t as necessary during most gameplay. It seems to be a good balance between having it and not having it.

Yes I agree with that. I am all for sprint in Halo but I would rather have no sprint than a teaser.

I don’t find it to be pointless no
I think 3% increase on BMS speed is fine
Oh and believe me I would be equally happy if not more happy if sprint was yeet’d out the window, but if it has to stay this is a good comprimise
I think it’s a good balance of not being so fast it breaks maps and turns the game in to a spawn shoot die with no strategy but yet in open spaces it makes a difference getting across a large area.

Well here I am, a sprint fan, telling you that I’d rather have it your way completely. Not thinking it’s a compromise at all, I feel like a fair compromise would be more like 5-10 percent.
