Why is there a Shotgun placed at the very start of 343 Guilty Spark

Since when did this level ever have a shotgun placed for you at the very start? Noticed this recently on one of the videos out there and i’m surprised nobody so far has pointed this out already

Hopefully then 343 has been sensible to include us some fun options this time to tailor our experience should we wish to mix things up a little. Iv’e always wanted to shotgun blast my way through that first section of The silent Cartogropher. A couple of custom options like this and others too would be a nice addition frankly- recognition for completion of levels this way would be obviously disabled

Otherwise why is the Shotgun even there

Doesn’t anyone here think anything of this? i had a good look around the level a couple nights back in search of the shotgun but it doesn’t exist at this point of the level

Just watched another video and there it is. Fantastic i guess i never went left in this level. I honestly thought you guys were wrong. I shall now have me some fun

I am pretty sure it has always been there. Didn’t they even make reference to it in the Flood book?

Yeah just me not knowing the game well enough. You’d have thought after countless times playing the game that i’d know this- mind you perhaps my least played mission

And still i can’t find a shotgun at the start of this level. It’s worth pointing out that i’m playing the pal version here. First thing i do having been dropped off is to head straight towards the downed Pelican where the shotgun is placed on other videos. It’s not there though on my version. So anyone actually know what the story is regards to this difference and others perhaps between region versions?

That depends on whether your playing on Normal difficulty. I think. I dunno, I haven’t played in a while.

Hmm i can’t recall if i played this level on normal other than the first time i completed it way back. Heroic and Legendary don’t have a shotgun for me at least

Well I learned something new. Too bad I already struggled through Legendary difficulty.

Hmm so i’m not the only one then. I do have both versions of Halo so i can at least check this out. I play the NTSC version on my original xbox though and have never seen a shotgun at this point- perhaps though having played the pal version that has instead an assault rifle placed, iv’e just walked on past this each time. Strange though as i’m sure i still would have occasionally seen or walked over it

I remember my friend and I fighting over it on Legendary so It was there.

It’s never been there for me. Ever.

Then again, I’ve never played on Easy.

I’ve played Halo CE on every difficulty, that shotgun is always there but I’ve never been able to pick it up. Only the ammo crates for more AR and pistol but that’s it.

Just thought it was a bug, and now it’s fixed. Don’t like it? Don’t pick it up.
