The Pillar of Autumn wasn’t capable of atmospheric flight, why would they have a an aircraft that requires an atmosphere to move?
I know it was on Reach and but it had large retro rockets to help it take off.
I’m going to guess that a couple of Falcons landed in the PoA while it was in the Shipbreaking yards, and when the Marines try salvaging what they can from the PoA they found an intact Falcon.
I’d say you’re probably right about how they got on there. The Falcons have only been used by the UNSC Army in the current canon so they probably landed them on the PoA during evacuation. From a real-world perspective, it’s a rail shooter that allows up to four players and the Falcon allows players to shoot from the sides, much like that section in Reach.

The first thing my brother thought when I told him about this game’s existence was that there would be a falcon turret segment. There is ZERO chance there won’t be.
Let’s hope the falcon returns in future halo games it’s one of my fav vehicles miss the feel of the co op action with team mates from reach
I don’t know that’s pretty farfetched it’s just a game.

I don’t think whether equipment is designed to operate in or out of atmosphere really matters. Warthogs and Scorpions aren’t capable of flight in either setting. but they can still be ferried down by Pelican or by some other means.

Yeah, but since the game will be canon, (everything is canon now) I think OP is curios how 343 want to explain that.

I miss the split screen action from reach, I mean at least make the new halo games 2 players.
I like the Falcon, it is a nice throwback to Reach.

Good point, definitely have some explaining to do.
Probably leftovers from the escape of Reach, would make some kind of sense.
As others have stated, the falcons were probably used for imminent evacuation when Reach was falling. I could be wrong, though. Either way, GrimBrother One is good at eradicating little loopholes.

Man, the falcon definitely deserves more credit…
