I have hit it three days in a row now. Yeah I play a lot. Yeah I do a lot of custom challenges. But so can everyone else. I am not directly affecting another player and it sure would take a lot less time for me to rank up. So why is there a cap?
I believe it is so we dont play excessive amounts of time. Honestly after marathons where I hit the cap, I would take a break and by break I mean sleep LOL.
I’m not sure how that could be the reason. If I’m playing so much that I reach the 180000 credit cap, it’s probably because I’m addicted, and the fact that I already reached the cap for the day isn’t going to stop me from continuing to play.
The Mass Effect 3 multiplayer doesn’t have a credit cap, but I certainly don’t feel the need to play til my eyes fall out just because there’s no cap to stop me there lol
The credit cap was implemented to circumvent any possible credit glitches that may have shown up.
If a glitch appeared that gave you 100,000 credits it would be somewhat pointless because of the 60,000 credit cap (When Reach first launched that is, it was later increased to 120,000 and now to an amount I haven’t cared to find out).
I havn’t hit the cap for like a year
> I havn’t hit the cap for like a year
I’ve never hit it and I’m an eclipse.
Playing for credits is pointless after awhile IMO. Just wait to you hit Noble, no unlocks until Inheritor. Till then? Just a big grind and snooze fest.
All those awesome jackpots 343 is throwing out that you used to like? Yeah, it’s not going towards much, if anything at all.
Still to end this on a more positive note, i haven’t hit the cap in a month or so. I don’t play Reach long enough to do that since i get bore easily with the game now.
The cap itself is just a tool for padding. It’s keeping the game alive for players who care about the ranks and prevents them from setting up bots/playing for hours on end.
A credit cap is needed to stop people from reaching the max rank within days, you can easily get one million cR from custom challenges within 6 hours, do that each day, 20 times and blam, Inheritor before you know it.
I am a Nova and I’d love to hit inheritor faster. Even if that means getting a mil a day. But I have school and other things so I play about 5-7 hours max a day. So if I am hitting the Cap in that amount of time, then it needs to be raised. I just start spawn destroying kids once I hit the cap because all I need to play for is for fun and to boost k/d out the water
> So why is there a cap?
There is a cap because a ton of people credit boost through non-ban-able methods and it was getting out of control.
There are enough Inheritors around that cannot kill anything. It is pretty easy to tell whether to be intimidated or not by looking at the service record.
It sucks for people who actually max out in MM. There should be some sort of algorithm involved where it caps you at 100,000 point outside of MM and you can keep going within.
This should also be a rule -> YOU CANNOT BE AN INHERITOR IF YOUR MOST USED WEAPON IS THE TARGET LOCATOR!

Wait…are you saying that 5-7 hours a day is ridiculously low playing time?..No, dude…No. And they aren’t going to raise it just because you’re hitting it. There was a long and drawn out thread about this a little back. Basically, if you are someone hitting the cR cap, you’re a dedicated player and are pretty much a sure sell on Halo 4. If you are not, you probably have less available playtime and might be on the fence about buying. Since cR and rank are the in-game incentive system (even if you personally just play for fun or say, “cR and rank mean nothing”, that’s still what they are there for) they have to be regulated. People that might not have the time to play won’t want to buy a game where they think they are always going to be the lowest rank. It’s not a decision that loses customers really, just gains them, even if it does annoy loyal customers.
Ive always thought that the cR cap was a bit redundant. I hate to make this comparison but Halo Reach cR system is basically a Call of Duty rank system. Call of Duty doesnt have XP caps so why should Halo Reach.
Btw, Ive been playing Halo since day one so dont flame for the comparison.

Does CoD have simple ways to get full ranks(200,000 credits) in like an hour that people exploit to make themselves ‘look’ better? (Serious question)

I’m sure there are more differences between the games than just a cap.
