Bungie has always tried to have justice in video games and that is the betrayal system. Yes it is a good idea, but only an idea.
I admit, what brought this to my attention was me betraying a teammate with the incineration cannon but it wasn’t intentional, there was a CQC fight between him and an enemy. I happened to be there. However, we all have been betrayed by that stray ghost, warthog, etc. before.
Someone mentioned this in the Reach forums and the answer from the community. It is to be more precise with your weaponry: grenades, power weapons, etc.
But what about this:
It was a one on one against my teammate and that enemy. What if that enemy had killed my teammate, that is one extra kill towards their victory. Wouldn’t logic dictate that I had an opening to win in a possible loss. Trust me, I didn’t want to kill my teammate, so why not turn off betraying. I would have gotten the kill and he would have been safe with an assist. Why not have this with vehicles too. I would rather be launched by a ghost half way across the map (in Ragnorak) than to just die.
So again, why.
