Why can the Voices of War not be given a REQ point price? I think it should be a 100+K RP pack, like the specialty packs (eg. Allegiance pack), maybe even 200K, but there should be a cash-free way to obtain any single pack (cash-only Gold bundles are okay because you can always buy single Golds with RP)
Also, if
> …[the Classic Helmets REQ pack] is technically part of Monitor’s Bounty…
why is it not free? Even a free pack with 1-3 of the helmets would make sense if indeed it is part of Monitor’s Bounty.
The voice actors must receive some payment from their work. That’s why its an exclusive purchase that mandates the cost of real-life currency. Getting it through RP alone - no matter how much it costs - would be like slapping them in the face.

Agreed, the voice actors had to go in for recording for who knows how long. Only seems fair that they sell it for $10

They’re trying to get as much money out of this game and franchise as they can

Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were able to do it at home for a couple of hours and call it a day.
But I agree that they should be paid for their work, they appear to have done some great work with these announcer voices. Personally, I am not purchasing the pack, since 10$ is too much for me to invest in this game anymore, but it, of all things, should not be free.

No it wouldn’t. 343 have got money from people buying gold packs, and would still get money from people buying this pack.
Or do you think the voice actors for this pack deserve to be paid, but the team for the emblems, weapons, vehicles etc in gold packs don’t deserve to get paid? What makes you think the voice actors team are different?

So the artists who designed the emblems didn’t do any work? Or the team that designed the sounds for the weapons didn’t do work? Etc.
The business model for this could have been the same as the REQ packs, there’s no reason why they couldn’t do it that way.

I agree, everything should be available from playing the game. And considering that you can probably pick Halo 5 up for £10 now, the price is a bit odd.

Voice actors are contracted out. You don’t put Nathan fillion on salary to record something twice a year, whereas you would have a semi consistent team making emblems, guns, etc. We don’t get voices regularly, it would be pointless if we did, ( 4 is plenty.) But we get the other stuff regularly. You have salaried, or hourly employees for that. That is their pay, funded by general revenues of the game. Voice actors contributed solely to the voices of war pack, and was likely one of the most expensive packs to develop (Mal aint cheap) I’m fine with them charging for the pack. I bought it.
Req points on there own are worthless, in the real world they aren’t worth anything. How are you supposed to generate income on a made up currency? It’s good that the pack costs money, the voice actors get paid, thus supporting the people who make the game function, plus you get a variety of different voices, one of the many pros is to not have to listen to Palmer ever again. XD

It probably isn’t. But this pack is probably the most expensive pack that they have put out I don’t know the voice actors who arent Nathan Fillion, but he is fairly well known. It probably cost them a few thousand dollars to get him, whereas each new vehicle skin costs less than $50. If it was free they wouldn’t be incentivized to make it, it wouldn’t be worth it. They can alleviate some of the costs this way.

I’m still waiting for a valid reason why they should charge for this and not other stuff. So far you’ve failed to provide one. Simply saying things get contracted out means nothing, it’s still a business expense, and entirely irrelevant how they pay people.

Ah. That actually makes sense, I hadn’t thought of it from that angle before.

Yeah, this would be why. They had to get the 3 Voice Actors in, sit them down, and run through the lines. It’s not the same as 343 making digital pixels in-house, which their employees are getting paid to do anyway. The Voices actors all would have (likely) got a fresh paycheck for doing their lines, so, 343 needs to justify that expense by charging real world money.
The Voices of War Pack is nice, but it’s not a game changer. All the Voice Acting work is pretty awesome though, so I feel happy giving $10 for my warm fuzzy feelings listening to my new voice overs.

Lol what a strange thing to say! Do you often have trouble following conversations?
Perhaps you could point out the part of my comment where you think I said that voice actors don’t get paid? Lol!

Read my other response. This one was far more expensive to make than any other item. They can knock weapon skins and vehicle skins out in a couple hours. The cost of production is way higher for this than any other post launch content.
