Why is the Scorpion Even in MM?

Well I guess I already know to this question. Because 343 was afraid to not include the vehicle in the game.

But seriously, why is it a part of MM? It’s more useless than the Mongoose. It’s only included in ONE map and you can’t really go more than a couple of minutes without being destroyed.

It might not be the Scorpions fault but rather the option to have a Plasma Pistol and Plasma Grenades as starting weapons. Although I doubt it because the Wraith and Mantis seem to manage just fine.

It might also be the fact that it’s on the same map as the Gauss Hog (speaking of the Gauss Hog, why isn’t that vehicle in more maps?).

I think it’s just the crappy Big Team maps are the problem, but also the dropoff is horrendous. The Halo 3 one was perfect, why didn’t they just keep it that way?

I think that there’s a scorpion on one of the Castle maps I might be wrong. but if there is its gonna be awesome. also hopefully there will be a solution for the scorpion on Exile.

We need more maps with these two vehciles. Also are there any maps with the rocket hog? I don’t really see that one on any maps either. I think 343 needs to look at some vechie based forge maps with these vechiles for the next forge test playlist.

The Halo 3 Scorpion and Wraith both were. They had the right speed, armor, and gun damage/fire rate to make them effective, but not OP. Now there just made of paper and the guns are more powerful with a slower reload.

The maps there on now don’t help their situations much either.

Exile is the only map with a naturally spawning Gauss Warthog and Scorpion. Vortex is the only one with a naturally spawning Rocket Warthog.

I only problem I see with super vehicles (tanks, gauss hog) in Halo 4 is the vehicles respawn quicker than weapons that can counter them. The only way to defend against these vehicles is build up ordnance and hope you get something to take out the vehicles.

I should also point out I have a load-out just for big team and I use plasma pistol, stickies, and ordnance priority. I know it’s cheap but I guess it’s what the designers expected the players to do

There really aren’t any open space, tank friendly maps in this game.

You used to be able to really drive in large open areas without being caught in a tight space with no way to defend against people with Plasmas.

Sandtrap from 3 really comes to mind. We don’t have that kind of map anymore.

Because it always has been.

I would like it to be a little tougher…it is a tank ffs. About 25% of my kills in BTB is from vehicles but only 4% (Exile only) from the Scorpion…to hard to get…to hard to keep. If teamed up with right kind of stuff they protect the tank but that seldom happens. You are on your one…

I thought it balanced before but I changed my mind…looking on the stats is proof enough…only 4% of my death in Exile is done by the Scorpion. And I have destroyed about 20 of them, and that is not focusing on the commendation at all.

Less drop on its main weapon. Projectile speed would also be nice.

You and your team must be doing something wrong, that thing wrecks spartan.

Those few precious times you get the Scorpion out of the hole and down to the corner, and you have a couple of team mates securing the area, it is awesome. But often I haven´t leaved the garage before a rain of plasma nades takes me to heaven.

Blame poorly-designed, circular maps with instant spawns. Not the tanks fault.

Exile is one of the gems in Halo 4.

The Gauss Cannon is the only thing that kills the balance.

And that is going to be sorted out soon enough.

It’s not the tanks, its the maps.
Of the few large maps there are, only exile has enough space for a tank, and even then its not much.
They added a lot of cover to try and negate the DMRs sight lines, which leads to bad vehicle play (and it didnt work very well anyway)
Lastly, if you’ve been looking at the videos for the map packs they say things like
“there is more than one route to take”
Which shows they are thinking about simple pathways for the vehicles, rather than in maps like blood gulch which had da wide open space for vehicles to roam.

Hopefully that will be fixed with the castle maps!

Perdition on the Castle map pack has a rocket hog. I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know there was a rocket hog until this map pack.

OT: A skilled driver can cause havok with the tank. I once saw someone go 22-0 with that thing on Exile. You just need to work with your team, have them defend against plasma users.

The few large maps? Yeah we only have Ragnarok, Vortex, Daybreak, Perdition, Outcast, Exile, Longbow, Meltdown, Wreckage, Shatter, and Harvest.

Medium sized maps are Adrift, Landfall, Solace, and Complex.

Small maps are Haven, Skyline, and Monolith.

Large maps and space aren’t needed anymore.

That’s like asking why is the Warthog still in the game? But saying it’s uselsss means you can’t operate it right. I’ve seen people go beastmode in the tank.

That’s the massive minority. Most people are lucky to get to the bridge 20 feet away.
