Why is the SBMM so stringent in quick play?

I understand the logic of having sbmm in quick play, but when I play with my son, who’s extremely good at the game, I can’t compete at all. I have practically zero chance against the people I’m expected to play. For the most casual playlist in the game, this seems kind of strange, at least to me.

I have no idea but I regularly get matched with the same people over and over again in social. It’s not uncommon that I play with the same player(s) 3 or 4 times a night, being randomly matched up. I know several gamertags by heart and notice a firmilar player quite frequently. I must have reached the sweaty MLG lobbies because every quick play game feels like a HCS finals game.

I’ve found social matches to be more hardcore and sweaty than ranked matches recently. It feels like in Ranked there is a larger deviance of skill, ranging from Diamond 6 down to Diamond 1, with some high platinums occasionally in there. You don’t need to be amazing at this game to get into high Diamond, so the skill range feels more relaxed than the SBMM I get in social.

It really does need to be relaxed imo.

Yeah it can be brutal especially if you wanna play with some friends who just want to chill and have a good time. It should be toned down a little for sure.

Every playlist is sweaty
