Why is the radar range so bad?

I would say if youre not communicating then youre not playing high level. footsteps and spotting only do so much against another team communicating making strategies. thats why matchmaking tries to accommodate that with skilll differences even though it shouldnt have matched those people in the first place imo since it doesnt work very well from my experiancce.

radar is not a perfect compromise either but its better than footsteps to improve matchmaking. Playing hcs settings in matchmaking should require you to have a mic and you will see how better matchmaking is because only like minded people will try to play that playlist. probably not a good idea now though with the population being so low.

I would say Onyx 1600+ is fairly high level. Top 1-2% of all ranked players.

No real way to enforce it and if players don’t want to talk then that’s for them to decide. I don’t callout or use my mic every game either, just when I feel like it. Definitely helps when I do use it though to guide teammates that are a little lost on the strategy.

if you dont need mics then the only explanation is matchmaking compensating skill levels or matching you against other non mic users otherwise you would lose against people with equal skill using mics.
