Why is the population in this game slowly..

Dropping? =(

I really like the game but it seriously needs a bigger population every halo game I have played always had 100k daily population (MM only). Only 27k are in war games in Halo 4.

I can’t imagine what the population will be like when the new consoles are released :frowning:

People didn’t like the game and by the time any major changes were made, those players weren’t interested enough to hear it.

There’s no hope in bringing a huge player pool back to Halo 4, not even a 200k tournament could do it.

Best to just focus on the next game and hope the same mistakes don’t occur again.

Because, despite all the updates, the game still sucks compared to halo 3 and halo reach.
I think 343i are listening, i’m going to buy an xbox one because i love halo.

> Because, despite all the updates, the game still sucks compared to halo 3 and halo reach.

I don’t think so. With the major updates 343 did, i find halo 4 more enjoyable to play as it was 9 months ago…

It just isn’t retaining people. Many old school fans were turned off by the changes and what 343i has been doing is probably too late to sway them back. Newer fans and fans from other shooters may just prefer the style of gameplay games like Battlefield and CoD offer and see Halo as a cheap imitation.

That’s how I see it.

Of course it is more enjoyable. But we were playing a BETA until june 3.

The amount of people searching in war games has been technically anywhere from 30k-33k in the last month or so.Some days the population has been over 35k.

Because that has never happened in Halo before right? The game being incomplete for ages, no that never happened I must be mistaken

/sarcasm

I’ve never played pre-patch halo 2, but halo 3 and halo reach were finished at launch and had more options and features than halo 4

Customs were limited, no theater, matchmaking was poor at first (might still be), Forge was downgraded to forgers, no elites, gametypes were removed, early gametype type switching in matchmaking, “broken” weapons, ordnance, custom loadouts, “weak” vehicles, and the maps. Also armor abilities.

Those are possible reasons.

I never wanted to admit it, but I must now that I too felt like I am still playing a Beta. I like that 343 is listening and that they are trying to listen and cater to all of the fans both new and old, casual and competitive.

Every time I come back to this game I feel like I’m playing a new game because of all the changes that have been made. It’s frustrating to have to adapt to the new settings every single week.

I also find myself going through each playlist saying “Do I really want to play the randomness of Infinity?” “Do I really want to play objective and just get killed by campers trying to boost their score?” “Do I really want to play Legendary Slayer and have to wait 5 minutes before I can get into a game, only to get slaughtered by a bunch of 50’s?”

Yeah the BR is a beast now and Light Rifle long range just destroys people.

Why is it dropping slowly?
Because most of the playerbase has been gone for months and the few who still play are usually the folks who will play it right up until the very day Halo 5 is released.

Why is it dropping at all?
Because it’s almost a year old and it has remarkably poor player retention, so of course people are going to stop playing it as time goes on.
If popular games never lost their playing populations, I’d probably still have my Gold subscription and my friends list wouldn’t be so damn inactive.

Maybe those that are leaving used to play as Elites, fly UNSC vehicles, or once loved to make custom Infection or Assault gametypes.

Or they’re just waiting for the Champions bundle before getting back in.

I’m sure people are getting ready to clear the dust off their Halo 4 discs just to get their hands on some new stances! Gosh I just love these new Stances!!!

/massive logic flaw for 343i:

Hopefully 343 will realize that people aren’t going to jump back into a game that they hate for pointless gimmicks.

However, a remake of The Pit is included, and some classic armors… So I will be buying the bundle, and I will be (temporarily) enjoying Halo 4.

i left long ago for none of the reason the poster above me stated. i left and never cam back because h4 was a mediocore game with depressing menus, music, and the players that play nowadays dont use teamwork, to many quitters, connectivity problems, to much aim assist, instant respawn, PODS, asymetrical maps that feel like its a COD map, to much magnetism, the list goes on. ill never return to h4, the only reason im here is to provide feedback from an original halo players point of view, to hopefully make halo 5 halo again.

The first reason, I believe, to prevent people from playing the game is the lack of a local only search option that is needed for non-US players to actually play the game.

The population is dropping because the game is frustrating to play. Despite all the updates, it’s still a frustrating experience to find a match, find a match with a good connection and then deal with so many “How and Why did I just die right there?!” moments.

There are too many gameplay mechanics that work against each other, too many random moments completely out of your control, and too many features missing from the game.

People played it, realized it wasn’t very good to what they expected from a Halo game and went to elsewhere to play something they like.

If you “really like the game,” then play it. If there’s any population whatsoever, and you can find a game, what difference does it make?
