Why is the MCC good but Infinite bad?

I cannot fathom (other than money and laziness) why Infinite is not up to par performance wise with the MCC. . . 343 has been working on Infinite for nearly as long as the MCC has been around.

We did not need a new sandbox or engine, we did not need a battle pass, we do not NEED cat ears 343! (which are cool but still, we don’t “need” them)

WE NEED A GAME THAT IS “HALO” and is comparable to the other HALOs that we love…

Stop trying to make the game for people that don’t even play Halo!!!

We NEED consistent gameplay, We NEED rewards/experience for time spent and performance done, We NEED HALO back. . .

You know why OREOs don’t “change” their recipe? . . Because they wouldn’t be OREOS anymore, DUH!

Get back to the basics please 343, Maybe you should hire executives that actually KNOW the GAME! ! !

much like how half the campaign’s dialogue is repeating lines from earlier games, it’s easier to build on the foundations of those who came before

MCC has had 5+ years of refinement since it’s release so comparing the two isn’t going to work. When it first dropped it was worse than Infinite is now, so give it time.

MCC was an almost complete trash fire when it released, disconnects in multiplayer, drop outs and freezing during co-op.

Many years of work later and people now hold the MCC as the pinicle of Halo and forget the issues it had/has, much lile they do everytime a new halo game is released, tje new one is slagged off while the previous one is “teh greatest game eva”.
Things change, they have to otjerwise people complain that its just “the same game with shinier graphics” , but then moan if even slight innovation is tried (armour abilities in H3 broke tje game according to many vocal people on Bungie.net, yet now it was ine of the best aspects people harp on about)

In conclusion (I know, I ramble) MCC took time to improve, Infinite will be the same, not an excuse coz it should be better, but thats how the cycle goes with Halo.

So where was the lesson learned? How could you be in that position with fans raved and then turn around and drop another steamer of a launch? Whether they fix it or not is irrelevant. Companies shouldn’t be able to keep getting away with pushing out poorly thrown together goulash.

That’s exactly what I asked too. Like I thought all the things they put into MCC was essentially a test bed for features to be implemented into Infinite. Well, we can tell that was not the case now, as many of the quality of life issues Infinite has works perfectly fine in MCC. Like the bp and challenges for one, not even gonna mention how much better customization is in MCC, too much of a low blow.

you need a grapple hook to beat every miniboss or tough foe and boss
even though u can’t swing on anything you anchor to from, the ground, wood, steel plates, grunts, jackals nor even vehicles or Forerunner constructs. The anchor would always break loose. Its Not a Question of Scifi physics like PLASMA or Teleporting, or Human Augmentation… its aweful
and they made you dependant on it

yet
sometimes you must hold the button, sometimes you can’t hold the button, and sometimes it doesn’t matter what you do, it retracts and screws you hard.

that kind of decision making defines the $.5billion spent making this game.

BUT Why Do you Think We Need REWARDS!!!

another problem with the Grapple interface is that it impedes the capacity to use Any Button as a TOGGLE Key for Any or All Other Button’ Functions. Limiting game mechanics and interface options.

does it click? hold? is it reliable? does it make sense? should it EVER be necessary to do any combat?

4 and 5 were both better. their pvp was viable, Sleepmaster5646. but i’d be patient, if the grapple hook didn’t set me off 9 months ago when they previewed that heresy: I can’t believe there is no drop kick, spartan charge(hated, but eagerly expected refined…) nor amphibian Campaign warthogs… for a RELIC pvp MAP remake…

that grapple hook could never work in any circumstance. but you are dependent on it for the terrible gameplay and game design of INFINITE. **Repulser, would have adequately sufficed as a Exclusive alternative to it for campaign. **

it has nothing to do with impressions.

  • How can you grapple off dirt?: OH YOU CANT.
  • How can you grapple off a steal structure that the anchor can penetrate? If you can shoot through it, 7.8 tons swinging on it will break free; YOU CANT.
  • a Rock?: CAN’T; chip, shatter. You won’t swing.
  • Jackal?: CAN’T.
  • Vehicle Armour?: Steal Deal*.
  • Forerunner material: “Virtually indestructible”; can’t penetrate with a whip, and then secure a reliabble anchor / BREAKS FREE.

As narrative goes it was dog water.

As Game Play Experience
You can’t beat any Brutes without it.
and where did they get bullet immunity? the Two Were used to Justify one another and it was terrible.
and why are they bald and not Halo 4 Brutes… or even halo 2 brutes… sheeze.

Came to share essentially this. Infinite is MILES ahead at its launch compared to what MCC was at its launch.

Yes, there is room for growth and change in Infinite. However, comparing it to MCC in its current state now is not a good comparison.

My point was/is that Infinite should not have released with less content than the MCC currently has. . . They could have used the MCC platform for Infinite MP and spent a lot more time refining the game itself. . . I’m not saying MCC was great on release but like others have said, Has 343 not learned anything?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the second installation of INFINITE when it comes out.

but that game’s highlights are going to be its nothing like the first installation… and that’s not a concrete fate yet.

100% Guarantee. The gameplay was fun, don’t get me wrong, but it got boring. Basically just a really long version of the second mission in Halo CE with a bit of extras. I’m finishing the campaign thanks to my sweet $1 Xbox Game Pass deal (Thank goodness I didn’t pay full price) then hopping back into MCC. I might even give 5 a whirl, I never played it, but folks seem to think it beats out Infinite.

I don’t know how much longer the campaign is, I’m on Escharum and he’s got a million and a half HP for some reason, and has a lunge/insta-kill once you get his last shield down, but after that, I’ll see you all in two years when some of the nonsense is fixed!
