Yeah, halo 3 and halo 4 did it best.
Reach did a good job too. It just didn’t have completion unlocks which was kinda sad unless you include the armor you got from Waypoint which I loved. I miss the Base Security chest and Military Police helmet.
CQB and Base Security were the coolest.

No it hasn’t the default in reach was Mark v[b] and was always planned to be the default armor heck its 6’s canon helmet i don’t get how you can just lie about that when its common knowledge in the halo fanbase

Exactly, Reach is fine, I have no complaints against Reach and never have had complaints w/ reach. Infinite does have this problem tho.
