Everytime I get a kill now it is going to tell me in the DEAD CENTER of my screen. That just looks irritating. I don’t understand why they didn’t just follow the traditional Halo kill notifications. I guess it was to appease the people with bad attention spans who just love to see +10 OMG UR LIEK THE GREATEST!!!
Thought on this? I haven’t seen any thread or anybody really talk about this, but then again I don’t frequent these forums.

I didn’t even notice it when I was playing lol. It’s really there just there for ppl who are new to the game and don’t understand it’s scoring system and all.

It is a tad annoying but we’ll just have to get used to it I suppose.
This actually urks me a lot. I’m not a fan of clutter and apparently neither is 343 so much so that they removed the secondary weapon from your HUD… to find out what your secondary is you actually HAVE to switch weapons… That said I really don’t understand why these pats on the back have to appear in the middle of the screen especially considering how much is going on in some of the matches. In a 1v1, 2v2, even 4v4 I wouldn’t mind it so much because once I get that one kill I’m usually done for a second but if you play with/against a team then you’ve got to deal with many different enemies at once and that clutter of +10 definitely gets in the way. Doubly annoying for 8v8 when you have double the carnage/double the info.
I have no idea why its there let alone on the screen. I don’t want to have to “get used” to it. This isn’t an aspect of the game like Mancannons or AA’s that folks should have to “Adapt” to, its CRAP on my screen that does nothing but tells me what I just did like I’m an idiot… oh, did I really just get a kill? For a second I thought I was fighting a hologram for 10 seconds straight…
REALLY REALLY REALLY hoping they moved this “feature” elsewhere on the HUD or made it a feature that you could turn off in your player settings. Heck, your spartan is uber-customizable my HUD had better be too!
I like it, actually. When I get a kill or an assist, I like the game to essentially yell “HEY! YOU DID A THING!” in text-form to make me feel like I did something cool. Sure, it’s better from a tactical standpoint to have stuff like this hidden away in a corner of the screen, but you have to admit, it’s not nearly as satisfying.
I seriously doubt it, but maybe there is an option to turn it off or move it. The noobs tips on Halo 3 weren’t that bad of a thing (Telling you how to pick up a weapon if you click instead of holding the button), but this just seems to obstruct the view of an average or skilled player.

Good point… hopefully that doesn’t get annoying. Might be different in-game though, you’re too busy trying not to get killed so it will be less noticeable. I do think the ‘KILL’ and points message should be in the top right or far right of the screen though.
