Why is the HUD the same for every helmet?

Why does every helmet even the ones without visors have the same Heads up display? I mean I thought by now or at least in Halo 5 we could have a different HUD for each helmet instead of it being the same on every helmet. And cannon wise it bothers me, why would the Gungnir helmet have the same HUD as the Enforcer helmet?

simply for fairness

i’d be cool to have different HUDs for each helmet, but it would go against Halo’s tradition of everyone starting on a relatively even playing field

If they were drastically different, then it might become disorientating changing between different helmets. Not only that but you see the HUD all the time, you don’t see your helmet, so people would be choosing they’re helmet based on the best HUD layout. Everyone would look the same, so it sort of defeats the purpose of customizing your character.

Basically what they said. It wouldn’t be worth the effort they would have to put into it either. It’s best to just stick with one design for all of them and focus on more important parts of the game.

Money.

It’s cheaper to just make 1 minimal HUD. Even if the graphical flairs don’t make sense on many of the helmets. But campaign? Oh, got to wow the casuals with the cowbell. Ding ding!

He doesnt mean that each helmets HuD should contain different elements, just that they visually look different…kinda like Spartans vs Elites Huds in 3 and Reach.

Id honestly be all for a customizable HUD with hardcoded elements that we can set up any way we want.

I’d like to have the shield bar in a vertical position on the left side, Gun status on the right lower corner, and radar on the upper right corner.

I think that this is an awesome idea

I wouldn’t really change the shape of the HUD, but I would love to be able to change it’s color depending on what visor I am using.

In real military terms, it makes sense. You want standardization. The less soldiers have to learn, the better, as the easier it is for muscle memory to kick in.

Now with GUNGNIR you make a valid point. When you transition from, say, DMR to the Spartan LASER, it would make sense to get a unique to the GUNGNIR helmet reticle for the LASER since that helmet is meant to enhance that weapon system.

But come on now.

343 can’t get ranks in the game, it took them forever to get the file share to work, and it’s still not as good as what we had with Bungie in Halo 3.

No way can you expect them to get cool specialized HUD elements in game when they can’t even master the basics yet.

It would be interesting to see HUD’s with different layouts, making choosing your helmet that much more meaningful. Or to at least have a different “HUD-line” layout.

Because than the armor changes up the gameplay. With a small visor like the one on Recon you can’t see as much as with a helmet with a big visor such as the Mark VI. Everybody would choose the bigger visor and there wouldn’t be much diversity.

HHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, a little late for that.

I think it would have been cool if they would at least have the tint of the HUD based on what visor color you picked.

Halo 5 idea right here

GUNGNIR and spartan laser point valid.
Maybe then Scanner helmet would make sniper scope a little different as well, seeing as they compliment each other.

Someone should make a funny youtube video about this. Exaggerate all the helmet views.

For example:
The Hazop perspective would be just that, that awkward upside down “T” design. When you get to the no visor helmets, just make the perspective a black screen and have that Spartan running up against a wall or something.

It would be hilaiorus.

this and also

can u imagine the HUD of a wetwork guy? lol practially a nightmare or gungnir

It seems like a lot of time and effort to implement into the game for no benefit, especially since we have, what, like 30 different helmets to choose from?
