Why is the Halo community so toxic?

Most popular communities are like that, but I’m surprised that you think the Halo community is the most toxic.
I always thought the Call of Duty community was worse.

I take it as these are all people who have played Halo in the past and are now coming back to complain because it’s not “what they want exactly”.

The lore community tends to be more friendly in general. But that’s my reasoning for the toxic portion.

People are complaining because it’s lacking and has problems, but the people who insult and grief have been here since Halo 3 at least.

People are mostly complaining, just to complain. Very little context or resolutions for the problems it does have and more so on the “purists” mindset of complaining.

I wouldn’t say “mostly”, but yeah, there are quite a few people complaining without giving constructive criticism.

Simply not true. Bad net code, crashing, weapon balance issues(AR effective range is one I don’t like), map design. There’s stuff people aren’t unreasonably criticizing. It’s not a rose tinted glasses thing.

This honestly the one’s who do that are the minority and funny to see complain

Is that what killed Lawbreakers?

Could’ve sworn it was a new IP in an over saturated market that did that franchise in.

Logically if elitism kills games, then Counter Strike should be the deadest game in the world right now, instead it’s one of the biggest.

I’m in agreement this current community is overtly unaware of its own toxicity (when most other gaming communities are scrambling to wokenly self identify as such to ‘address’ the issues, heck the Rust community even unapologetically embraces it), which is bizarre considering I’ve had the absolutely greatest/friendliest interactions with other players in any Halo title out of any other game/franchise I’ve ever played, but your arguments are a bit assumptive and branch out a tad confusingly.

Loud minority is always the loudest. Gamers, activists, citizens,…. Deal with it. It’s nothing special.

It was normal levels of toxic before 343 took over and tried to change what Halo was. Now after the decade long fights about sprint, aa’s, etc. it’s just trench warfare. People have dug into their sides and pop off mortars every so often. Nothing moves.

And what I consider one of the biggest problems; 343 got rid of basically every cool social feature that promotes community and connectedness.

But to be fair, you can go and blame 343 because what they did and do with Halo franchise is just disgusting. And players don’t forgive, don’t forget.

Are you trolling… has to be a troll lol. Half the banter in this community is mindless ranting and drivel. Unless you consider actual complaints from fans of halo with 2 decades of experiences under their belt “toxic” then I have no idea what ur on about.

I think many misconstrue the word toxic with passionate.

when will bleeding hearts like you learn to stop taking the loud minority in a subject and characterizing the entire group as the same as the small oud one. Stop makiong these garbage posts complaining to nobody. The only real reaction you will get is negativity, and posts like these are a waste of time.

Go to Twitter. It’s actually fairly respectful there. There’s going to be aholes but its much less.

Reddit in general is a cesspool for hatred. Why even go there?

This is the way. Reddit and twitch are cesspools of ignorance.
