You’re always going to notice the bad eggs from the good ones - I don’t think the majority is toxic.

I do that all the time, but the thing is it only makes you feel good without providing any evidence that the one you blocked and or reported will face anything at all. Worse, the ones you block (and or report) will still run into you in online matchmaking.
Blocking and reporting don’t do anything anymore these days. Unlike other social media sites like DeviantArt.com where when you block someone, you’ll never see them again until you remove them from your blocked user list yourself.

Didn’t there used to be mute bans on people in older Halos?
Like if they were muted or reported enough, they were automatically muted for players who’ve never come across them before?
It still allowed people to unmute them, but if they’re toxic enough, then you’re essentially spared the effort to mute them yourself because of their reputation.

Wow… I never said I didn’t do any of that, I also didn’t ask “what to do with toxic players in-game?”, I said that they are everywhere but ok, let’s say I just want attention… whatever.
Edit: I also never said Halo community is the worst, like nothing you said is what the OP (me) said.

There were but it was rare you was more likely banned for a while from xbox live I should know my cousin got banned from a guy getting his friends list saying he was cheating for wearing shoulders that he just unlocked saying you have to be inheritor to gave them and me and my cousin just explained that he was wrong and he couldn’t play for a week all because someone wanted to be a dumbo
If they’re being harassed can you blame them for anything they said? I haven’t experienced what they have, but I believe what they have said. I think we should try and understand others, even if we don’t agree. If you want to change OP’s opinion, show then the community can be better.

Solutions to in-game problems with toxicity is nice because it can improve QoL.
Forums aren’t exactly a part of the game, but I guess you could say because of toxicity it makes it harder to find someone to group with? But you didn’t talk about that as a goal.
So I really dunno where else to go with the question you pose besides saying yeah toxic people exist and there are plenty in the Halo community. As far as a why? Eh? Because humans? No one will give you one solid objective answer besides generalities.
the toxicity is what MAKES the community, IMO. and is why it’s so great tbh. change my mind.

Idk I doubt your cousin got a week long ban because of one report. I saw lots of mute symbol mics in pregame lobbies, so idk what you mean by you didn’t see it.

This is my observation as well. Haven’t seen anything worse in the Halo community than I’ve seen elsewhere.
This community points out a lot of faults with the actual game, but that’s because 343 don’t do a very good job making Halo games; their products all have these huge glaring problems that everyone in the community can see from a million miles away.

Got a message from the Dumbo telling me to report him for cheating(my mic was broken at the time so I had to jump on my cousins mic to tell the guy that he is wrong so I guess he didn’t realize I was playing with him)

And I should know it was because of that because an hour later he got banned and all he was doing was playing infection and barely said a word and I was playing close by
Because there are abusers of a system doesn’t mean we shouldn’t make one. It’s nice to not have to mute people who are habitual crap talkers. Saves me from needing to lose focus on just playing the game.
It could have a cooldown too, so if someone is rehabilited, then they have a route to redemption.
