Just kidding, I know it’s because 343 implemented it.
Seriously, you win 2 elo for placing first in score and winning in a 4v4 game. But you lose 6 elo from losing a 3v4 game. You lose 12 elo from going 33/22/17 and placing 2nd total if you lose a 4v4 game.
I was gonna ask if 343 tested the formula, but I already know the answer to that.
Correct. Halo Infinite, and all other Ranked Games published by Microsoft Games Studios utilize TruSkill2. ELO works fairly similarly. How ever they are most likely referring to CSR which is a value that tries to be accurate to your TruSkill Rank. The system as it is, does not work properly and is leading to a lot of issues in Ranked.
Not to mention the matchmaking based on the system. It’s quite confusing. When I was diamond, I’d only play against onyx and high diamonds. Once I reached onyx, now I pretty much play only against platinums and diamonds… doesn’t really make sense.
I played against a 2k onyx when I was diamond 6. Thats a ~1490 elo player playing against 2,000 elo… I solo queued into that, like wtf?
I’m gonna play more ranked to check on that, didn’t even knew how the ranked system work cause I don’t usually play. Most of H5 was until I get ranked to get the reqpack and that was it.
