Why is the Didact evil?

It has pretty much been confirmed that the Didact is the ancient evil and the reason why he is evil is in the Halo books it has come to my attention that people seem to forgot that the “ORIGINAL DIDACT” was killed by the Master Builder but before he was killed he transfered his memories to a young forunner who then became him so this pretty much explains why he is evil because it’s not really him the forunner just has his memories and abilities then some where after that the new didact goes evil for some unknown reason this is just to tell you why he is evil when he was good and it would just seem weird for him to have suddenly turned against when he was actually trying to save humanity a long time ago.

. < use them more.

I thought there were multiple Didacts. Maybe this one wants to activate the rings?

All 343i have done is they revealed that the Didact is in the game. They said they havn’t revealed the Ancient Evil yet, and it is something that may suprise some of us.

I really wish this had said spoilers or something. That just ruined the whole book for me.

OP you did not use a single period. Your post was very hard to read due to that. You should edit your post and separate your thought to make your ideas much more clear. I have no idea what you were talking about after I got half way through your post.

Would not agree with this at all. While I have my suspicions there has been no confirmation that the Didact is the ancient evil.

We’re not sure what his motives are yet.

He might just be guarding whatever requiem contains, and sees the humans as meddling into things they shouldn’t be.

I do not think he is the ancient evil. There’s no way 343 would spoil such a big important enemy that easily. I forsee him being Johns rival at first, but he eventually gets put in his place.

I concur with Austin. For all we know, something happened that Halo 4 will teach us about the Didact. We don’t know what has happened or why his symbol has been warped the way it has. It is definitely pointing at the Didact being involved, but for all we know, its his evil twin…

I think he’s getting this idea from Guilty Spark saying that if the humans angered the Didact that they might just prefer the Flood, key word being “IF”. I do belive the Didact will have some sort of role as an antagonist, at least in the beginning.

Thanks for ruining it for a guy a quarter through Cryptum

Why would you be on a forum where people discuss every single officially released piece of halo data if you didn’t want spoilers?

With Cortana’s physical body and the Achievements, it’s confirmed the Didact (for some ridiculous reason) is the Ancient Evil.

Level 8 is Composer, which Cortana gets her physical body

Level 9 is Midnight, which is the last level

we’re not fighting an important character in the last level of the Campaign because he’s not the Ancient Evil? makes sense…

sorry, but that Script in that ViDoc spoiled waaay too much!

The Didact isn’t the ‘ancient evil’ he’s probably the bad guy because of the Halo 04 being destroyed by Chief. He destroyed 2 so Didact is probably mad at him.

It was meant more of joke, although I do wish people understood the importance of the mythical tag.

Then why does he aim for self-defense? Swatting Cortana aside instead of destroying her?

I think it’s clear that his business is only with the Chief, nothing more.

I think he’s merely pissed off.

so do you want to contribute to the thread?

He is contributing to my ability to understand and interpret the OP properly. Good grammar is just as important to this thread as the Un-Dickdact or whatever is going on here.

Going with my Requiem is a prison theory on this one. He may not be evil, but corrupted to some degree. I certainly hope we won’t have to read Silentium AFTER Halo 4 to understand the Didact’s, whichever one it may be, role.

THANK YOU Decepticon. I was waiting for you! The Didact being the Ancient Evil just doesn’t add up…it doesn’t make sense…the ANCIENT EVIL…? Come on now…and why would they confront the Didact in person in the first game of the trilogy? If he were the end-all bad guy wouldn’t that be saved for Halo 6?
