I’m not complaining I just want to know if you know the reason?
So the covenant were defeated, the humans were working with the elites to defeat the Flood. After Halo 3 and after reading Halo Glasslands we know that there are Elites that want to re-start the war against the humans now that the flood are gone.
So is this what we are seeing? Has the war started again and if that is the case is this a new alliance between elites, grunt and so on… or are they still calling themselfs the Covenant? Would the Elites use this name after what the prophets did? or is 343 just calling them the covenant just to not confuse players.
Another scenario would be that these elites and grunts are a rogue splinter group of the covenant, either keeping the fight going or not knowing that the war is over. There are some real life scenarios of this, like the japanese officer stranded on an island who didn’t know that world war 2 was over.
Anyway, do we know or have any educated guesses? Or do we have to wait for the sequal to glasslands to find out?
Well, if you read Glasslands in full scope, you may remember that the leader of the Elite Order that was trying to reignite the Covenant and possibly assassinate the Arbiter had Brutes helping him.
That and due to the Ung’-Yoink!- Rebellion (Ung’-Yoink!- = Grunts) the Elites were the first to see the true merit and skill of the Grunts and welcome them truly to their ranks and to the Covenant so seeing Grunts and Elites working together isn’t something different or new in my eyes seeing as they would suicide for the sake of their Commanding Officer’s Life.
Halo 4 is four years after Halo 3. Alot can happen in this time and they may not even call themselves the covenant but I’m glad they’re still here. But who knows maybe the humans did something to really piss off the Sangheili. Neverthe less Frankie says they won’t be a majorly important factor in the game.
