This happens to me all the time. 1vs1 battle. I have a carbine and it takes a million shots to headshot 1 guy while a pistol takes a minimum of 4 shots to take you out. The first to die is usually the person holding the carbine. What is the meaning of this? Why can’t the carbine kill someone in 3 shots like it’s human equivalent the BR?
EDIT: Damage per shot in carbine is weaker than pistol.

BR is 4 shot. Light Rifle scoped is 3, unscoped 4. DMR 5, magnum 5, Carbine 7. The carbine should win most encounters with the magnum. It has a huge amount of auto-aim/bullet magnetism and a high rate of fire. Aim for the head and spam the trigger. If it’s taking more or less shots for you/against you there might be a connection issue.

Because the carbine is meant to be a mid range weapon if it was 3 shots with its current rate of fire it would be overpowered and the magnum is meant to be used in close range to medium range which is good because its the 2nd best pistol in all of halo.

As he said carbine is meant for mid to long range
Rarely for close range which is where the pistol is superior

…Everything about this post is wrong.
Pistol is 5sk.
BR is 4sk.
I’m pretty sure the Carbine’s killtime is comparable.
The Carbine also has tons of range compared to the Pistol and is very easy to use.

Damage per shot is weaker than a pistol’s. Rate of fire is much higher to make up for it.

That’s my point. How could a rifle be not as strong per shot as a pistol? If it “makes up” for the damage via firerate, why is it not considered a rival of the pistol or classified as one?
Its ts upposed to be the rival of the BR, not a pistol. BR easily 4 shots. Why not the carbine too? And at the same time, why is the pistol 5 shots, which makes it just as strong as a rifle.

It does rival the BR…when considering how quickly you can kill people. The number of shots it takes to kill isn’t the only thing that needs consideration when balancing weapons.
Shots-to-kill
Time-to-kill
Rate-of-Fire
Range
Ammo Capacity
All things considered, the pistol, Battle Rifle, and Carbine are equally effective when being used in the proper manner.
In short, yes, the carbine does less damage per shot than the BR and Pistol. But it’s balance by the fact that the Carbine can shoot much faster.
You shouldn’t be concerned about rifles needing to be stronger than handguns. This is a video game. The weapons need to be balanced.

you also have to take into the fact that with the faster rate of fire, trying to zoom while getting hit by the carbine becomes impossible which throws alot of peoples aim off for some reason.
I would definitely take the carbine over the pistol. The fire freezes people up i know that is one weapon that gets me more often then not. Someone starts hitting you and before you can move your down. Yes takes a ton of shots but the magnetism in this game is pretty strong easier to get then the pistol imo
Carbine is a 7 shot kill, and can be fired really fast, like almost as fast as one can pull the trigger. The fast rate of fire it has would probably make it OP if it could kill in any less than 6.

Because that’s how it’s coded, and it works fine. Ideas of “realism” typically make for poor game balance.
OPI use Carbine a lot in Warzone, and I know what you’re talking about.
As soon as I hit Req 2 after capturing home base I grab a Carbine and feel like in close-mid range I lose almost 75% with the Carbine against Pistol… it sucks (or maybe I suck)
But I like getting the Carbine for mid-long range kills early in Warzone matches. Something about a Perfect 7-Shot Carbine Kill is sooooo satisfying to me! Its my gun to use to get perfect kills!
But it has to be at the right range. If you run in to the Monument on Battle of Noctus with a Carbine vs everyone else with pistols, I feel like youre asking to die…

Because its a video game do you think its balanced to have a fast firing weapon that shoots as fast as you can pull the trigger to be 4 shots to the head no that would ruin the balance which in my opinion is the best in the halo series where its not only the br thats usable.
