Why is the banshee such a piece of crap

I cant possibly be the only one who thinks the banshee is utterly worthless in MP (and campaign). The controls are so poorly constructed that it is impossible to get more than a few kills with it before being destroyed by DMR fire. Whenever you do a backflip or barrel role you always exit the animation facing some random -Yoink- direction and it get really -Yoinking!- annoying. I am really baffled. The banshee controls in reach were absolutely PERFECT! why did 343 do this and how could this discrepancy possibly get through beta testing unnoticed!

You are probably getting greedy and not retreating when your shields drop.

If you retreat when you are getting hit, then you can go on sprees.

You can’t hover over groups without getting blown up. Which is a good thing.

Honestly? Halo 2. I should know for logging over 14,000 games on there.

On Exile I just keep circling the map. Come by their base, blast one or two, retreat for another loop. I can usually get at least 5 kills unless a Spartan Laser hits me.

It was ridicuously overpowered in Reach. Words cannot describe my hatred of it in Reach with all of the spawn killing it caused.

OP, try what dnuower does. And you’ll see that it doesn’t suck.

Meh… they’ve NEVER gotten the Scorpion figured out. And unless you’re in a Covenant floater, everything controls so awkwardly. It’s one of my least favorite things about Halo over the years… a stubborn refusal to modernize.

I feel like its really well balanced. If you do we’ll in it you can get a good run of kills but if they focus on it and deal with it well it gets smoked. Seems like the way it should be.
