Halo infinite is the most difficult game I’ve ever tried to aim and shoot.
All throughout MCC on PC I averaged a 1.6 KDA and the game just felt great. Halo 2 anniversary in my opinion is the best of the bunch when it comes to overall controls and just a perfect shot.
No, I’m not even averaging above a 1.0 in halo infinite, and it’s pretty obvious there is no Amos cyst on the PC version of halo infinite. I play with a controller and I can tell you right now it’s sucks a hairy you know what.
I honestly just cannot play this game anymore until it is fixed. Please make it better 343 so I can play this game again.
By the way, is it me? Is anyone else having these issues with aiming and just trying to shoot in general?

It’s possibly just you, and similar people in this situation, since they redesigned the sensitivity controls, you can tweak your stick sensitivity more than ever before. The problem is, you’re too used to MCC and Halo 5 bullet magnetism where it hits headshots even when you’re off by a lot. Infinite dropped the magnetism a lot and now a sniper will miss by inches if you weren’t aiming accurately, like with a real sniper.

When in doubt check your accuracy, if you’re hitting less than 50-60% of your shots…you’re going to have a bad time
Aiming feels fine to me, I’m on XSX and an Elite v2 controller

Halo infinite has this thing where you can get killed well behind a wall. Next up, Halo 5 isn’t on MCC, and to top it all off alot of people have tweaked the settings and not all of them still find it enough to compensate.

I’m loving the aiming still haven’t gotten my deadzones right but the sniper and br feel so fair to me. I’m still learning the curve on the sandbox but so far I think it is the best in the series even if some of my favs are Mia and autos aren’t useless anymore.
Needler either needsore taking and faster projectiles or less needle for combine though.

Never said H5 was on MCC, I said they had high bullet magnetism. Also, turn on your ping and check your network connection because that sounds like a lag or bad internet issue. They’re probably shooting your lagging behind body on their screen.

My ping will range from 15-25 -_- I’m not lagging. The original post never mentioned Halo 5… No it even once. So the bullet magnetism argument doesnt work here.
My point is people have similar arguments and Infinite is built on top of Halo 5, so people are also confused why they aren’t getting tons of kills like before. They just lowered magnetism.

The Default stick settings are definitely not helping. You will find it easier to aim if you crank up acceleration to max, drop max threshold to 0, play with deadzones til you find it where you have control and minimal drift. Lastly, with acceleration up, drop sensitivity really low, but that might be preference.
This likely will get you close to atleast manage against the lower than ideal aim-assist mechanics.
The aim assist is even lower than Halo 5 though.
I played a decent amount of Halo 5 and was playing it pretty much right up until Infinite released. In Halo 5 I was hovering at around 50% accuracy and I could see on the end of game scoreboard that most other players were in this range too.
Now at the end of games in Infinite I’m seeing a lot of players with 30% accuracy, maybe even lower.
If we had access to proper Infinite stats on Waypoint I bet we’d see that controller players had much lower average accuracy than in all past Halo games, Halo 5 included.
Maybe that’s why 343 don’t give us access to the stats on Waypoint now
I find myself aiming better in this game then in the previous titles.
I agree, unplayable for me too. I wont continue playing until they patched the aiming…
Not forcing anyone to, but I recommend a Turtle Beach Xbox One controller. It has 2 programmable back buttons, and you can program one of them to make your stick aim slower for precise sniping if you use high sensitivity
I made a thread to help people using a controller. The default scheme the controller has isn’t what you will be used to if you play any other game. Search for “Need help aiming in Infinite?”. The settings there will make it feel better.
Probably just you. I am playing about the same skill level as all other halos 1.0-1.5. The only thing I changed on my aim settings was look sens. I have it at 6.5- base settings everywhere else
I am on a Series X and a Elite V. 2 controller. It is spray and pray right now and I do not find it fun at all.

It is not only you having these problems. Every other post or comment is about the garbage controller aiming. For me it’s too slow, 10 sensitivity is super slow. I’m sick of trying to make it work somehow when I’ve been a flick shooter for the last 10 years on controller. The sensitivity just isn’t fast enough to do any kind of flick shot or fast 180 turning with just a flick of the stick. I hate it and frankly I’m really disappointed with this game. The only reason it’s still on my Xbox is the vague hope that there’ll be a launch day patch for the Controller aiming. It’s unplayable like this.

Aim assist still exists and the sensitivity customization is better than ever. The bullet magnetism was just severely reduced.
I also found the aiming extremely difficult, because I never played at a high sensitivity. After a lot of experimantations with the settings, I finally got something I like. That includes both deadzones at 0. Maybe it is not for everyone, but I think if you invest some time in these configurations, you can figure something out.

there is definitely something off about aim assist. been playing halo since the first one. this is by far the most difficult to aim
