Just wondering. Who gets offended and cries to 343 about this? Stat flamers just make me laugh. I don’t cry and moan so people can no longer brag online. So much for competition, no ranked system, no ranked playlists, and now, you can’t even compare stats for bragging rights…
it’s about the people who say things like, “oh well you only have a .98 K/D and only play Infection so you have no idea what you’re talking about/don’t get a vote/aren’t qualified/etc.”
plus, threads about stats always devolve quickly into people belittling and putting down others for their level of play. none of which is conducive to the positive environment that Waypoint is looking for.

Its a form of personal attack and attacking other members such as this is always a bannable offence on professional sites such as this one that wish to keep a good appearance.
343 Industries and Microsoft wish to put up a professional image of all the future Halo Titles and the Halo Franchise itself. Bungie were less strict about their rules since Halo was created as a cradle of love for them. Letting everyone do their own daily business was no problem for them so their Game Forums (Specifically Halo’s) usually go un-inspected with a few locked threads from time to time.
343 Industries indeed hold this passion with Anniversary being a obvious-fanbase direct game but they don’t want replies on their forums which may offend those who wish only to voice their opinions. Anyone who supports Stat-flaming is obviously going to get in trouble. Bungie.net Halo: Reach Forum Users still talk ill of this site with the strict regulations being one of the reasons.

What point? Lol. Who are you? Walshy? No? So why should we care? Competitive Halo is about trash talking and it’s not serious. It’s all in good fun. So I think it is rediculous.
Stat flaming. It is one of those elitists things. I mean, some people need to feel better by putting others down because of their lack of respect for opinions and views.
I think it is against the rules because it does nothing to promote discussion. I think 343 tries really hard to keep people focused on the game and its mechanics instead of on people bashing one another for whatever reason. Stat flaming is just one of those things that adds nothing to the conversation.
EDIT: OP you can report the post yourself and state you what it moved and the reason why.

Let’s try looking at this logically and not like a child who just wants to throw their imaginary video game stats in someone elses face:
Competition is best left on the battlefield aka In The Game. You know? Where the competition actually takes place. This is a Discussion Forum. Not a debate hall or a court of theatrics or basically an area to say “Wow, you’re pretty bad.”
A good deal of us have actually come together due to this instead of talk smack about each other’s “oh so cool thumb flicking skills”. We’ve collectively formed a group and have an all out good time. I’d much rather the site adhere to this instead of “stat bragging”.

oh god, i swear the competitive comunity is blinded by nostalgia and ignorance.

The only thing ridiculous is your spelling of ridiculous. I think what she meant is that you proved her point by replying: “Well it’s true. Sorry. They play kids games, they have no say at what goes on in MY gametypes that THEY do not play.”
By saying such, you pretty much said that if you have low skill, you’re point is invalid. This marginalizes anyone’s opinion based upon skill. That’s a bit unfair. It also quickly devolves any post into a rank bashing thread.
I have no problem with smack talking, but only if I know you and we are in game. It really has no place on the forums. Text is subject to interpretation, and while your joke may be harmless, it can be interpreted any way. Just look at my first line. I was completely joking, but you may be offended.

Yeah, trash talking is fun…when it’s actually TALKING. Are you aware how attitudes and whatnot get lost through internet posting? Again, this is a website to promote discussion and community - not alienate this player or that b/c their K/D is a few points below yours.
I play for fun which means, my K/D suffers for it but I don’t think I’m a bad player. I just don’t HAVE to win or get the most kills. That’s something for someone who has less responsibility in their free time. Like children.
I’d much rather keep more focus on my job and personal life so i get to keep all the things that trump a K/D ratio like food, rent and entertainment in my spare time.
Do you go to school/work and start trash talking about your Halo Stats? I would like to assume not. Hence, again, this is a place for discussion. Not trash talking. Keep it in the game where it belongs.
> Well it’s true. Sorry. They play kids games, they have no say at what goes on in MY gametypes that THEY do not play.
If someone is horrendously wrong about a gametype, then you should have no problem using actual logic and intelligence to demonstrate that. Making a valid argument is infinitely more effective than slathering your posts in a thick ooze of egotism and entitlement.

YOUR Gametype? What’d you do, make the game? Why don’t you act like a mature adult, you know, like the target audience for the game…

Halo isnt about trash talking, its about having fun
trash talking is for 16 year old high school kids who like to hide behind the anonymity of a microphone when they would never act that way to a stranger in the real world (or maybe they would, who knows, kids are punks and more often than not punks learn lessons the hard way)
this is why i play Halo competitively with everyone on mute besides my teammates, most of the time i dont use a mic
talking trash is juvenile and is bad enough in the game, keep it out of the forum
