I would think that Squad DLC would have a hell of a lot more players than 156. Maybe they should add TU and community maps to it, to spice it up I guess. hmmm…
Factors like the time of day and and the day itself are some reasons why it has a low population, other reasons might be that people are busy playing other playlists that offer more or that people who do have the DLC don’t have friends that do to.
Hell, it barely exceeds 500 at peak times.
It has to be one or two reasons. Hardly anybody relative to the daily population of players has all the DLC, or they don’t like the vanilla settings.
It can’t be because they don’t like the maps. The DLC maps are great. I’d take Highlands over HemoRage anyway. Condemned over Zealot.
Squad DLC, Objective and ZB all float very low numbers compared to the rest.
Yes Objective and ZB peak higher than SDLC, but that’s splitting hairs compared to other not so popular playlists that equal all 3 combined at anytime. The popular playlists make the named above all look superfluous in comparison.
So really what to do? If Objective must stay out of tradition, both Squad DLC and ZB need to go to make way for “progress.”
It was doing well as Premium Battle. Then the Anniversary requirement was pointlessly thrown on. At that point it started to choke out; people that wanted to play Anniversary maps had 5 other playlists to enjoy them in, and Anniversary BTB which accomodated 6 man parties just fine.
Those players simply never came back, and I’d imagine a lot of people probably still assume that it requires Anniversary. TU wouldn’t bring back people, they have other playlists for big maps and big parties with the TU to play.

Yet those same players would love to play some of the Defiant and Noble maps.
1 playlist as TU: BTB/Squad-Anniversary with Noble and Defiant as optional and 1 playlist as Vanilla: BTB/Squad-DLC with Anniversary as optional?
I Would like to play in it but I don’t have noble map pack .___. I didn’t buy it because I don’t see these maps to be worth of 800ms points. Instead I bought Defiant map pack and I can’t play them because I need Noble pack as well… That not fun.
EDIT: Are there also Anniversary maps on that playlist?

In Squad DLC, yes. And not completely rare as with a small population and it being a form of DLC/expansion, Anniversary maps show up every few games.
It’s a matter of them being voted to be played that is my problem in playing them.
I would play it but i don’t like the idea of 6v6. If i wanted that many people i’d rather play big team battle. If they changed it to 4v4 and maybe with TU id play more. But regardless of TU or not, the amount of people on a team bothers me the most.
Let’s see…
How about we have a ton of playlists already that don’t require you to have DLC, thus decreasing the player count of those who have DLC to begin with? Why waste money on just ONE playlist when you can play the rest free of charge?
How about that we have AR starts on huge maps like Highlands and Breakpoint? That’s always fun /sarcasm.
How about the movement and jump settings bad for big maps?
That’s just a few reasons why the DLC playlist has a lowest player count. I would rather see it banished into the void instead of losing Squad Slayer. While it didn’t have the biggest population, it was no where near the low levels of Squad DLC.
Why i can’t get anyone to see at least one of these points is beyond me.
I’ve noticed its filled with high ranking default warriors.
for me:
I can get maps in other playlists now, and DLC is not TU.
Its like that because parties of 6 are always playing it. Not fun when your playing by yourself and you play 6 people who spawn trap you. Thats why I dont play it
