Why is Slayer BRs in unranked Team Slayer?

its so those that arent fans or good in ranked BRs can practice for the real thing. even though thats what weapon drills and bot drills are for. and variety of course.

No way! I play Team Slayer all the time now. I’m happy they got rid of that awful Sidekick starting weapon.

I wouldn’t mind Team Slayer to have BR + AR starts.

In BR Slayer commandos only spawn where the BR’s were, but Pulse rifles are replaced with AR’s.

For me the bigger question is, why isn’t there a RANKED Team Slayer playlist already?!?!?! This game is pretty much dead to myself and my friends without it (that and a few of my friends get major desync at times and terrible servers way too often)

I live in Canada, I like the BR :slightly_smiling_face:

The bigger question is why isn’t the Commando a starting weapon in ranked, since it’s a far more difficult and skilled weapon to use. The BR should be in unranked. Same with AR. Apply this even to BTB. Ranked should let the Commando be starting because it is much harder to utilize in scenarios and gunfights. Do you go full auto up close? Can you handle the bloom and recoil from a farther range? Things like this are exactly why it belongs in ranked.

BR? A mess. It’s so random and broken. It’ll never be fixed nor ever makes sense in a competitive setting. Ever since the depth of the BR got removed in 2, the BR has been a soulless weapon. A burst weapon doesn’t make sense in an arena shooter anyway and definitely not in a competitive setting.

I’m not fond of the Commando either but it’s no doubt a more difficult weapon that entails a larger skill ceiling. That’s just fact.

I was very happy to see BR starts in some (but not all) of the game mods in Team Slayer. I really enjoy those games, and hated being forced to play the Ranked playlist in order to get it.

BR + AR starts does seem like a decent compromise, but I’d prefer if they just make a precision slayer mode.

As it takes zero effort to shoot an AR. Anyways there should be a common ground or have two different modes within the Team Slayer or cycling from game to game.

i think Slayer BRs is nice, Slayer Commandos would be nice too- but not spawning with a sidearm feels bad. don’t like that. :disappointed:

Overall the Season 2 update has implemented some very nice changes and I think that Slayer BR is a great addition, but there is still one big problem with this.

The Slayer BR variant now comprises 58% (7 of 12) out of the possible game type/map combinations in the Team Slayer playlist. That’s fine, but the Season 2 change that “nerfed” the melee damage overall was only mitigated for the BR in Ranked playlists! As a result, the Ranked Arena participants can still use a BR that has a 2-burst/melee kill, while that won’t work for people in Team Slayer (as well as the other Social playlists).

The bottom line is fairly obvious: don’t “fix” the BR melee damage strictly within Ranked matches and modify the Team Slayer playlist to be mostly BR-only starts! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

  • #1 @The_Kerminater team BR slayer is fun and less sweaty than ranked, I love the BR and I’m rarely ever tryna play ranked so I (and likely many others) appreciate the addition to the playlist.
  • #2 @MajorPaperCrane it mainly just favors BR’s
  • #3 To both of you, Both input methods have advantages and disadvantages over one another. controller/xbox gets aim assist + red reticle and KBM gets the ability to turn around rapidly and strafe like an absolute madman while shooting faster -when using semi-autos - due to a lack of capacitive triggers.

Having played on both inputs and listened to each argue about which is unfair and better than the other, the main thing I’ve learned is, aiming feels bad using either method. More specifically, aiming feels inconsistent, not as fluid as it should, and its difficult to track people. Also, aim assist in infinite’s multiplayer is the weakest its ever felt in any Halo title and its also weaker than the aim assist in its own campaign. Below is a link to the most informative video I’ve seen about this explaining specifically why it feels this way. Also, @MajorPaperCrane if you primarily use KBM, this video may help you improve getting around controller player’s aim assist.
Good luck to both of you, hope this helps.

Are you kidding? This means social is actually worth playing finally

Exactly lol. BR starts virtually never got veto’d. There’s a reason precision slayer was added. If you search both precision and auto slayer in MCC H3, you will get precision 4 out of 5 times. It’s just more populated.

And the 1 game of AR slayer usually has a couple people scumbagging with a BR the whole game against defenseless AR noobs

I grew up with Halo 3 and BR starts are totally fine for me. I take that thousand times over the spammy sidekick. I mean yes, the sidekick is a cool side weapon for nailing the last shot, but it is kinda weird as a main weapon in Infinite.

Just my personal opinion. I can see why people like the AR and sidekick combo.

If the Sidekick functioned more like a magnum, I wouldn’t mind it either. But it is spammy, has a low mag, and is pretty unreliable. If they gave it 15 bullets instead of 12 and made it a 6 shot kill instead of a 7 and lowered the rate of fire a tiny bit, I would love this weapon. Right now, it is the first thing I trow away once I spawn with sidekick + ar.

Also, how is my post, the one you reacted to “bait” in any way?

One thing for absolutely sure is that 343 don’t give a ratt’s behind about players choice. It’s VERY obvious.

heres a crazy idea, what if we start with a br AND another weapon?
