Why are people trying to force the narrative that Battle rifle starts are not a social thing? There’s absolutely no reason it cannot be a social thing as well. It being popular in ranked does mean it cannot be in social at all.

I like BR start team slayer. It’s fun for me! But. I realise it’s not fun for everyone. Which is why we should have a match composer. Some way to sort out modes we’re unwilling to play. cough commando tactical cough

Because as much as certain people try and pretend otherwise, BR(or insert precision weapon here) starts have always been popular in both competitive and social games in both Arena and BTB. Its been this way from the very beginning of the franchise and people are still in denial about it.

reminds me of playing social slayer in h3 and in the pregame lobby a random would usually say “veto for BRs” and everyone would veto the trash AR slayer.

People have been asking for BR starts out of ranked literally since launch. I think it’s a bit frustrating when you’re counting on AR starts for challenges, but apart from that I am honestly more than totally fine with it.

Frustration occurs when there is only one playlist with BR starts.
I would be quite happy for their to be BR starts in all playlists. More so in BTB than anything else.
You also have to remember Ranked isn’t the original ranked it’s MLG/Hardcore/HCS - not a fan favourite but a niche favourite in previous games.
So all them out there wanting a Team Slayer with radar Br starts And Ar secondary are left wanting and bitter.
I think it’s dispicable that 343 has sold out the game for HCS! It is the downfall of Infinite!

Don’t understand this. AR and sidekick are both effective mainly at close range. If someone picks up a power weapon they have full control.
BR allows for good medium and longer distance battles. I dont play social simply for the fact that it was only boring AR and Sidekick starts.

I dont understand what the issue is, I really dislike how little skill the AR takes in the game and this has made Slayer much more fun.

BR starts shouldn’t be more than half the playlist. Getting an occasional BR start is fine but it just ruins the game. Why would I pick up half the weapons in the game if I start with a BR? Everyone just plays medium to long and there might as well not be pickups on the map. BR starts is fine but they balanced it WAY too heavy to BR starts in social slayer.

That’s literally the point of a power weapon. It has value, and that’s what drives the flow of the map. Take away that value and you make the game shallower.

Where did all these fringe AR people come from?

Halo 2 - BR was common in social

Halo 3 - BR was common across all social

Halo Reach - DMR was common across all social modes

Halo 4 - Infinity settings meant you could choose 4 different precision weapons always

Halo 5 - The only game prior to Infinite that had a strict no spawn utility weapon policy
Why are any of you threatening to quit because of a feature that was the staple of the franchise for every game bar Halo 5? I vividly remember in 3 and Reach where everyone would veto the AR option so they could get rifle starts in H3 social slayer (of which I have over 2000 games played) and Reach team slayer (which I had 2500 on). I rarely searched more than a 2 stack and got BR/DMR starts over 80% of the time, closer to 90% than 80%.

Although br slayer is a welcome addition to team slayer for me, this should have been a ranked playlist of its own.
