why is second weppon removed from HUD

I see that in halo 4 you can only see the icon for the current weapon you are using in the upper right corner, and not your other weapon. Its been in every halo except ce/anniversary. Its not really important, but if your using one weapon for a long time its nice to be able to glance at the corner of the screen and not have to change weapons, possibly revealing your hand to the enemy to remember what other weapon your carrying, (though this is very rare for me). So im wondering why 343 would bother to remove such a basic feature? Do people like it better removed? (343 is still working on the hud so it could still be in the final game but that’s probably not too likely, couldn’t find a topic on this so i thought i would bring it up). opinions? thoughts?

This is a huge problem, but remember, nothing is final.

This’ll be a problem for me and a lot of other players if they do not fix this. :S

there will be changes made in time. this is only the demo/beta[kinda] that you are looking at. there will be alot of tweaking in these next 4 months

I think it’s the next 7 weeks. Frankie said they were that far from being done at Comic Con.

I’d love see it back myself.

I don’t remember where, but I know it was confirmed by Frankie that it will be returning. It just was never added to the E3 build. I promos you, its returning, don’t worry.

Well, a lot of people are trying to turn Halo 4 into another “one-gun” game. So maybe they’re designing the HUD for the people who have no intention of using more then one-gun.

I’m glad to hear this. I use that part of the HUD they removed.

yeah, i know the forge hud they showed was nowhere near complete, so their definitely still working on stuff. Hopefully they’ll add it in, i doubt it would be hard. they mind as well.

The HUD is incomplete in all current versions seen. The secondary weapon is one of them incomplete parts.

Weapon… Its spelled Weapon

And Halo 2 didnt start this trend with the BR? Or CE with the pistol? And halo 3 with the br (again) and reach with the dmr…

With the variable selection of primaries and still being able to pick up weapons, it would seem unwise to retrace back to the older steps of the simplistic hud of ce and 2. Halo 3 added the secondary weapon icon and reach added the ammo count. So i agree, its not game breaking but is incredibly inconvient to not be able to see what im holding and hiw much ammo it has (especially when you walk over ammo and cant tell if you picked any up.)

Talking about the HUD, i want the compas back aswell.

The amount of incorrectness in this post is astounding.

Yeah, that’s the reason for the joke :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you. :stuck_out_tongue:

Halo 1 was far away from being a one-gun game. Sure, the Pistol was a three shot kill, but you had to be able to place your shots and compensate for the players moving due to bullet travel time. It was a damn miracle if you managed to kill your enemy while only shooting three shots, especially online on Halo PC.

Not to mention that, unlike future Halo games, every weapon was worth picking up since you could actually do stuff with them without much trouble. This is the direction Halo 4 is going in, and I’m happy with it.
