Why is SBMM a thing in social?

This generation is soft they don’t want to get past the “why am I dieing” stage and figure out why and get better. Getting pounded is part of the learning experience

Taking it out probably won’t make the game feel any less sweater then it already is.

If it’s random as hell what your gonna get…… that is the goal. I want random

It’s significantly easier to get better at the game on a level playing field then it is on one where you’re dead so fast you don’t even realize how it happen. You can’t improve if you don’t know what you did wrong so you can take steps to change and fix you’re playstyle.

YouTube do your homework……… read up on map strats learn power positions adjust your sensitivity there are many things you can do. Again you don’t get better by playing equal opponents you get better by playing better

You’ll never know what youre doing wrong if all of you bad habits and playstyles result in wins because you are playing against opponents who are equally as bad as you.

Lol you wish, people don’t do that -Yoink!- now-a-days.

I remember when everyone did that back during Quake 1. But people can’t be bothered to take time and learn stuff like they could back then. Everyone just expects to jump in and do well right out of the gate. Then get frustrated when they do terribly.

Anything that comes off as “work” in a game is bad to them and “bad design” by the Devs…

Last few decades people have gotten very lazy.

Than screw those lazy players they don’t want to put time into learning the game why are you trying to protect them. Real fans stick around and learn the game. You will get stomped you will stomp you aren’t going to win 100% of the time

You say thay and then you defend the matchmaing of this game with the argument that “new people shouldnt have to work hard to get wins.”

Unbelievable.

No one cares what you want. SBMM likely has a player retention component that you’re ignoring. If the casual player keeps getting paired up with people outside of their skill rank, and they’re just not winning, they’re going to quit.

Let them they won’t stay for the longhaul anyways

That’s how I perceive a lot of new players in games now-a-days compared to what I’ve played against back when I played Quake. No where in that statement did I say people should actually be like that.

All I said is I want new players to play against other new players so they don’t get demolished every match and be driven out of the game. A New player will learn more and get better faster playing people of similar skill, not people who can destroy them every time they interact.

Right, cuz you said it earlier.

Sorry you didnt say people should be like that. You said 343 should cater to people like that. My bad.

How does giving them the message they are doing good against other bads good? You can’t gate off the bigger fish and full parties. You learn by getting stomped.

Actually no I didn’t. All I just said I wouldn’t throw them under the bus for people like you is all. That’s not the same thing as catering.

We all saw the bottom of the bus than we climbed into the bus and got a real seat. It’s part of learning the game

Again, people grow faster when playing against people of simular skill.

Most people won’t grasp what happened if a better player absolutely destroys them in seconds. If they can’t figure out what went wrong they cannot make changes to improve and prepare themselves for the next time they encounter them.

That’s where dun dun dun theatre mode comes in to learn routes. And is my sensitivity too slow or too fast is that why I’m not landing my hits ? Am I using this weapon right?

Most people probably will never use that or even know it exists.

Im gonna paraphrase from the movie Whiplash because its a great movie woth great writinf and great themes.

Charlie Parker was one of the greatesr drummers of all time. He became such a legend because one day someone he was playing with threw a cymbal at his head cuz he was playing like garbage. He got laughed off stage. He went back to that same venue later in his life after having spent the last few years practicing beyond imagination. He played so well he became a legend. If instead of getting a cymbal thrown at his head because he was bad, his friend looked at him and said, “Hey its alright, you did your best. You’ll get em next time,” what do you think would have happened? He would have stagnated and Charlie Parker, the legendary drummer, would have never existed.

Same thing applies here. Unless new players get a cymbal thrown at their head, theyre just gonna stagnate and never actually learn how to play the game well. But i guess some people are just alright with that, and it’ll keep the money flowing for 343. Nice
