Why is rakhsakhsa the worst armor core in the game?

Firstly, what kind of name is that? What language is that? When you think of Mjolnir you think of a 7 foot tall Spartan super soldier in one of the coolest sci-fi power armor hardsuits ever designed, or you think of the hammer of legend that Thor the son of Odin wielded in Norse mythology. What does “rahskasa” have to its name? Who looked into an obscure encyclopedia or something and saw that word gazing into him or her and decided that it needs to be the name of an entire armor core?

Secondly, the name really fits the look of the armor: a mishmash of the worst aspects of armor design culminating in an absolute eyesore. It really brings back the memories of Halo 4-5 armor that looked more like Power Ranger villain costumes. No wonder Spartan 4’s got rolled, they had the worst sets of armor to chose from. Why would humans go from being the second most advanced sentient species in the Milky Way to dirty unorganized scavengers, and why would that habit force its way into the Spartans? Aren’t Spartans supposed to be hyper intelligent? Why would they stoop down to grabbing scraps from dead allies and foes, and even begin wearing things like hobby enthusiast kneepads (its in the lore of the sportstek kneepad) instead of arming themselves with titanium armor pieces?

Rakshasa: A demon or spirit of Hindu myth (double check, I could easily be wrong and google and I are not friends.)

Becuase the spartans that utilize the core are lone wolves who are deployed for prolonged peroids of time behind enemy lines, they’re meant to be self sufficient and while I don’t want to say sneaky, you sure aren’t going to see them spearhead an invasion. They don’t have easy access to an armory, they need to salvage what they can and use what they can get, they’re literally scavengers, if they look the part, it means the design team knew what they were doing in that aspect.

This is what we call an opinion. One that I, and I’m sure others, disagree with. You don’t like it, don’t use it.

Seems fine to me… A lot of people seem to enjoy using it too in my matches. A most it just feels a little limited, but it’s new so that’s kind of to be expected…

This must be a you problem.

It’s my favourite. And it’s the first time I’ve literally given two hoots about changing up the armour / attachments. Previously I would choose a colour and a helmet - set and forget.

Love the rag tag aspect. Things literally held together with tape.

I can see where you’re coming from. It’s quite an adventurous set - placed within cannon (unlike Yoroi and Eaglestrike), but the design is really atypical.

It’s a little too far on the ‘ragtag’ side of things for me, but i like some of the armor attachments, like the Elite skull and banished trophy shoulders. Kinda makes sense for spartans to scavenge some pieces of armour (but not so far that the mjonir set looks too trashy, if you get what i mean). It has to have a power core at least, if it has shields, and if it is to function well as spartan armor.

I’m personally waiting for cross core so i can put on some of these pieces on the mk 5 or 7. That to me retains more of the original spartan flavour, while still offering a fresh take with developed cannon.

This is a smart person. Well said on all aspects.

A very ignorant thing to say. If you don’t know it, look it up yourself since it bothers you that much.

On another note, Rakshasa is probably the best armor core design I made out of the other 5 armor cores. The back is the only thing I dislike, but it has more detail than any of the other designs.

It’s customization is limited.

Goofy helmets.
Boring or weird shaders.

Ugly non armored back

Rakshasa is a decent customization set from a visual point of view. But it has no business being an armor core - especially if it’s supposed to be canon - because, well, most of it isn’t actually armor; the majority of the outfit is just regular cloth.
This makes about as much sense as the ridiculous Gen2-design which was just a couple of armor plates duct-taped to a morphsuit. I had hoped we were past this nonsense after the Mark-VII and the other Gen3-designs were introduced.
Rakshasa would feel very much at home as an outfit for regular marines or so, like in a Halo ODST sequel. But no Spartan would ever wear this over a Mjolnir if given the choice, as the lack of protection is basically suicide in a war zone.
Yeah, I’m aware, they claim it’s also a Mjolnir, but, y’know… Granny’s Peach Tea and stuff… Like, seriously: It doesn’t even have a shield generator, even Gen2 had those, this completely contradicts previously established canon.
Now, if this were a Fractures armor, that’s a completely different story…
