Honestly 343, your emphasis on competitive halo game play with this pro league season becomes a joke when you enable radar in the playlist. Why are you giving players information on their enemies’ position outside of player communication? This slows down the game play during a match by discouraging movement around a match(as players have to constantly crouch/bunny hop in the proximity of enemy players to avoid detection), but it encourages corner camping in the process as players now exactly where each other are without even being called out. Why is this mechanic still enabled in a competitive setting? The opportunity of risky game play with radar on is entirely non existent, and there should’ve been a continual outrage among the pro community for such a ridiculous decision.
Please remove radar in team arena/pro game play after the end of this pro league season 343.

> The range compared to other Halo’s has been drastically reduced. Honestly at times i’m not sure if the radar even works so i’m indifferent to it.
It does, just different than before. It still provides valuable information even with the lack of range, since players can rely less on player communicate to know where the enemy team is.

So glad you dont work in the multiplayer department of 343. The radar is practically useless now and in my opinion is too short with the increased movement speed making it so you don’t know a spartan charge is coming til you’re in the air. Also, to be honest if there was no radar I would be even MORE encouraged to camp as I not only don’t wanna be hit from behind but I could always be ready to strike if an opponent pops by.

> The radar is useless enough as is. Plus, people with expensive headsets would have even more of an advantage if radar was removed.
Player communication and teamwork still trumps expensive gaming equipment though. Especially with the pro players in the pro league season (who can easily afford expensive headsets), it provides even less of a reason to keep radar in the game.

Exactly! The radar was set to 30m during the beta test, and I thought that it worked rather well. When the game released, it had been cut down to 18m! Essentially, someone needs to be within close proximity before they can potentially appear on your radar.

But how does it justify 343 to enable radar in competitive playlists, especially pro league?

Because almost every playlist is competitive and people would riot if it was removed from arena and it wouldn’t make sense to not have it in pro league if its in normal matchmaking.

This occurred for halo 2 anniversary, and ALL other games in which competitive teams played in different settings than regular matchmaking, including radar disabled.
I am totally with you! giving some static camping even more intel about wether somebody is coming around the corner is just ridiculous for competitive gameplay!
