Why is quickplay only 3 maps?

I just wanna chill and solid queue some mixed normal games…and I have to put up with the same 3 maps.

Why???

The playlist is intended for newer players to get used to H5 so it’s not going to have a lot of maps in it.

I get that, but it’s the only non-specialised casual playlist and it’s three maps?!?

It doesn’t add up.

I know. It doesn’t make sense. There is no real social slayer playlist in h5. At least there is triple team right now, but that’s just a temporary playlist. There should be an actual social slayer playlist in h5. Quick play should add a couple more maps or at least rotate the maps in the playlist. Also, quickplay has a lot of try hards in it and probably scares off most new players.

This was the actual explanation.

> In addition, we’ll be adding a simple playlist called Quickplay at the top of our Social lists. The purpose of this list is largely so incoming players having an obvious starting point. The biggest feedback we get from new players is many if not the majority haven’t played any Halo in the past and have no idea what those playlist names mean. This should make it super clear where to start. The list will feature Slayer on Plaza (not Rig), Truth, and Coliseum. We’re keeping the maps to a minimum so folks aren’t overwhelmed, and using Slayer since it’s a straightforward game mode for both new and solo players. The playlist will also have a maximum party size of 2. If you’re looking for some light Slayer gameplay with the chance to mentor incoming folks, hop in!

I think it was a reasonable concept at the time but the social settings hasn’t evolved and changed with where the game is in its current life cycle.

The H5 playlist rotations and philosophies have always left me scratching my head,

Quick play was designed for newer players to get a decent handle on the 3 main maps of Halo 5 Guardians.
^ Put simply. As well as these maps being easier to memorize.

Happy hunting!

Quick play was designed for New Players, shame it doesn’t help for returning players, got some rust in me
