I just forked out £17.00 for the season pass and wait, there’s nobody playing the -Yoink!- thing?
I’ve played the standard maps almost to death!
I also have Season Pass. I just don’t enjoy the maps. They are, for the most part HUGE maps. Harvest was probly the one I liked best but even then I HATE that it has a false sense of symmetry. Really, minor issue that spoils it for me.
The forge maps in the Forge Test Playlist are less visually appealing but at least they are fair and fun and not HUGE. Really don’t know what Certain Affinity was thinking.
I didn’t bother with it after a while since they show up in the other playlists often enough for me.
Whenever I’ve tried to play the Crimson playlist it’s been nothing but objective game types with the worst team mates possible! ugghh, a lot of money for maps Ill never get the chance to play
Its actually my favorite playlist, but mostly due to the game types rather than the maps. CTF on harvest feels like old school halo. Lots of fun. Makes me wonder why we still don’t see objectives in BTB
I think that everyone got them for free, played them, and now that you have to pay for them they think “eh, they’re nothing special and now I’ve seen and played them, I don’t feel the need to spend the money.”
They come up often in the standard playlists so I stopped playing the DLC specific playlist.
Wreckage: A cluster of random rooms scattered around a gigantic map. No sense of direction anywhere. Random grav lifts that shoot you 2,000 ft. A million vehicles. Power weapons everywhere. Why would I like this map?
Shatter: Incredible screen lag. Lack of movement paths (i.e. it takes in hour to go from point A to point B). Mantises. Screen lag (again). Long sight lines perfect for DMR standoffs and cowardly play. Why would I like this map?
Harvest: The best of the bunch, but not without problems. Marketed as “symmetrical”, but really it’s only partly so. Big rocks perfect for DMR teamshooting. For some reason there’s a barrier on the cliff side. Uphill battle to top mid from both directions, making the better team even more dominant. I actually enjoyed this map for the first week or so, but now I’d rather play Adrift, Haven, etc. because they are actually small.

I actually like the maps except Wreckage. However, I think its turned into an achievement hunting playlist almost exclusively.
But it is currently the only place (and now the forge playlist) for KotH.
In the long run, too, I think the launch fiasco which turned into a trial period left a sour taste in a lot of people’s mouths.
Personally, I was tempted to download and play them, but the splitscreen lag on Shatter is horrible beyond belief. If 343 could fix anything in this game, they need to fix the splitscreen.
Other than Shatter, I was disappointed with the Crimson DLC. Wreckage is, well, a wreck, and Harvest is too big for anything short of 6v6, yet it’s in CTF, Slayer and SWAT.
Because all three of the maps are awful.
Too much brown. Can’t wait for a space, sea and snow map.
I just played on Harvest in Infinity Slayer today… They do come up, especially in BTB
Because Crimson mappack is awful. Alot of us, such as myself, have deleted the maps from our hard drives.

Yeah, I agree, I really don’t like the maps and the first time I played Crimson DLC was also the last time I played it.
Play Infinity Slayer, Big Team IS, and CTF… you actually get to vote for them a lot in there and they get voted through often. Don’t worry you get your fair share of the maps.

Um no. Im SR129 (95% matchmaking) and I have only seen the DLC maps outside the DLC playlist once and that was the week they were free for everyone. I play with friends who have the maps but we havnt got them since.
The system obviously fails.
Yep played two hours of BTB yesterday not a single crimson map pack, I’m guessing 90% of the people Im getting ranked with don’t have the map pack.
