It’s actually a joke. 4k hours in CSGO and im getting outgunned by people just 4 bursting with a controller without any negative repercussions in ranked. Mouse aiming and bullet magnetism is so scuffed I can’t even.
It’s a wacky issue all around. I’ve heard people make this argument in reverse too.
there’s no way, I swapped to controller and it’s night and day better, what an absolute joke.
Yes way. Both aren’t very well tuned, and I had to make some pretty big changes to the settings to really get my controller aiming working right.
I think it how the game is played. Halo has long TTK, MKB don’t have any aim assist, the tracking is 100% on you, and you react to enemy movement VS Controller + aim assist(tracking portion of aim assist) track instantly, not 100% but it has no delay. In all FPS right now, Controller VS MKB balance is hard, IMO the output for both input are around the same, BUT the input(skill, energy required) for MKB is higher to achieve the same result
I mean, CSGO is a different game. It shouldn’t translate at all; and number of hours doesn’t matter anyway. I find I prefer controller but neither really feels better to me; there’s pros and cons to both.
Yeah it does translate, via the ability to track, in this game shots just wiff.
not really it’s really easy with MnK. Especially no scope and long range, close range feels better with the controller. But bullet magnetis is close to zero.
Haha nope, you can pump in 3 shots, shields down and then the very easy headshot just get’s wiffed for some reason.
If you think it translates that’s the problem. It doesn’t, and it shouldn’t.
The ability to move your cursor, click and have your shots hit should absolutely translate. The fact that they dont due to RNG strafing, the lack of bullet magnetism and aim assist being present for controllers in the most important aspect of the game (landing your shots), makes it a joke.
Imagine playing Halo 3 for 15 years and then coming to infinite and your skills on controller didn’t come with you.
Big dumdum moment right there fam.
Pretty much sums it up perfectly. I feel myself improving a bit with mkb which is probably due to me learning the pace of the game and the muscle memory over time but I still get moments where my gun feels like its shooting rubber bullets.
My controller aim assist doesn’t even work 60% of the time. I think the aiming is just overall broken at the moment.
Just like MCC controller gets tons of autoaim unless you’re really far away.,
CSGO and Valorant are “Slow and Campy” FPS
Quake, unreal tournament, halo and apex are “Mobility” FPS “Fast placed gameplay”.
You may have a very good aim “Standing still” but it is not the same “Strafe + shot” and keep good accuracy. If you had played apex / overwatch for at least these years you wouldn’t be so rusty in HALO.
In HALO I do the overwatch strafes fused with the apex slide and jumps.
It’s because bullet magnetism is way stronger on controller. If bullet mag was 1:1 and controller got AA, it would be much closer.
Lmfao I have 1500 hours in Titanfall 2. Get out.
A big factor is on MnK there is a slow ramp-up in movement acceleration, vs controller where you can max out the stick and move at full speed instantly. With the small fast player movements on the controller and the lack of “Destiny-ish” bullet magnetism, it is near impossible to make the tiny movements required to track. Controller players’ aim assist will enable them to be unaffected by the small movements, but more affected from mid-fight crouches. As of now, the controller is the better option. Perhaps increasing magnetism for MnK would be a solution, which would still allow the game to feel competitive and natural.
Yup, magnetism needs to be 1:1 on both inputs and just tweak the aim assist on controller until it feels equivalent.
I would not be surprise that the bullet magnetism is the same on controller VS MKB. I didn’t see any vids proving that it’s diferent, I can be wrong tho
