Is it just me or is matchmaking absolutely horrendous this month? I’m right in the verge of onyx in doubles, but I can’t get there. It’s not due to lack of skill though, it’s due to the fact that I keep non-stop getting paired with someone gold or lower who on average goes 1-15. How does this even happen?!?! It’s is not even just one time, it’s so freaking consistent. The only other option that also happens, is that I get paired against two champs who are communicating, where the kid on my team has no mic. In high level play, communication is everything, and I almost feel like there should be a rule that says you have to have a mic if you’re diamond or above. It’s impossible to win without communication and somehow 90% of players don’t have a mic which makes absolutely no sense. Ok, I’m done ranting, but I’m just so pissed off.
It’s been like that for a while when it began to lose its population. Matching with Onyx is common thing now days.

What’s your search prefrences set to
I’m currently a gold in slayer and Im on balanced search and have found it very off. ill play a match with 5-7 plats in it and will go 15-7 and then play a match against a bunch of gold 1s and be 10-11 or something. i don’t get it at all.
that happened to me when i was doing placements also. I got golds and plats and i think once i had a silver teammate.
I think 2 things are starting to have an impact on matchmaking. First as population drops they have to widen matching parameters to maintain decent search times. Second so many people have second accounts (smurf accounts) and those accounts don’t reflect their actual skill. Good players intentionally ranking low causes rankings to get all messed up with wild variations in opponents skill.

has to be cus i just did my placement matches in swat and i litterally played with and against the same people every game. I won 4 games and still got onyx 1700
