Why is Legendary such a joke?

Why not give skilled players the proper challenge they desire ?

The bosses appear to be the only challenging part. ALL of the combat encounters should be challenging not just boss fights.

If some players find legendary too difficult that’s what the other 3 difficulties are for. Find one thats tailored to your skill.level.

I really hope 343 introduces another legendary difficulty or tweaks the existing one so it actually feels challenging cause it’s pretty disappointing and easy. AI aren’t nearly aggressive enough.

Does anyone know if Infinite campaign will.be modable ? Cause if so I’m sure we’ll get a campaign rebalance for legendary to make It the proper challenge it should’ve been In the first place.

Like I don’t get 343. I don’t understand how they can’t get these things right. Each game they’ve made is always so frustrating because they get some things so right but they fail miserably with so many other aspects.

I guess you have not finished collecting all the skulls yet and tried beating Legendary with all of them on yet… you realize that is the REALLY REAL hard mode, right?.. Even with infinite ammo and no Iron skull being a thing, I sincerely doubt most people will be able to beat the game on LASO unless they have a lot of time on their hands…

I’m playing on heroic and I’m practically running through most combat encounters. The few times I’ve died were chance or unseen threats, but I never feel outmaneuvered or pressured by the enemy. If I take cover they simply do not seem to pursue.

I miss the Halo: Reach elites. Those dudes meant BUSINESS.

Halo reach AI was really punishing at times for sure. It’s no surprise though, the AI in 4 and 5 were bad as well. Also remember when skirmishers would try to flank you if you tried to hide to restore your shields or were distracted. Even grunts in numbers were a credible threat in reach if you didn’t have good positioning.

Why don’t you explain why you think Legendary is such a joke yourself?

Personally, I think the campaign is going to be too easy on Legendary once you’ve mastered everything and upgrade all of your equipment.

Playing on Heroic right now, most of the enemies, even Brutes, are extremely weak and easy to take down with most of the weapons in the game, with only a few bullet-sponge mini-bosses and a few well positioned sniper jackals that are able to give you any trouble.

Certain parts are very difficult in Halo CE on legendary. Especially if you play solo. Mission 2, when you have to save the marines before Foehammer brings you the warthog for example.

The boss fights themselves suck as well. On legendary all the bosses are just bullet sponges that do insane damage. That’s not how you design a good boss fight.
343 should look at Zelda for good bosses, unique mechanics make them not need to be sponges. You have to figure out the bosses weakness and exploit it.

But it won’t be play tested and will feature frequent d/c issues where players are sent back to the main menu just like in Halo 2 Legendary on the MCC.

People will tell 343 about the issue on Halo Waypoint and they’ll put it on the Halo Infinite Backlog of things they plan on fixing in the future but never will end up fixing.

I agree. Other than the bosses legendary seems really easy. I mean do the brutes even charge any more? They only thing I’ve noticed is you definitely need to have a plasma weapon and a kinetic weapon. They are really driving home that plasma drains shields in this one. Also the electric guns aren’t really that good imo. They don’t really make sense to me.

I snitched one single little stitcht.

Didn’t have any issues with Halo. If you end at the cliffside you have a good defensive position. Honestly the bane of my playthroughs is Spec-Ops Elites and how fast they fire + that sticky nade spam. Two Betrayals however is simultaneously my favorite and also hardest mission in the entire game.

Yeah but so is every other gun? They don’t really seem to be unique was my thought.
