I think thats because people are tired of only hearing -Yoinking!- on these forums. For most people here halo is there favorite game and weather you like it or not its their game.

It goes both ways, truthfully. There will be threads like this, and others who completely -Yoink- on everyone who shows any sort of non-adversarial stance with 343’s decision-making. Because doing so makes one a dirty, dirty apologist.
But in any case, it shouldn’t really hamper the enjoyment of a game. That, and really, they’re no more entitled (nor is their opinion any more valid) than myself and others.

I think there’s quite a bit of bigotry on both sides of the isle.

I know it’s hard, but you should stay Away from the hate as much as possible. If you have a hard time dealing with it, then let others deal with it. it’s unfortunately going to happen regardless. So be happy and form bonds with good positive people that make you feel good 
“If you don’t like Halo 5’s ‘fast paced’ gameplay you’re obviously bad at it”
“You’re just stuck in the past”
Examples of arguments pro-modern players use that pro-classic players do not use the equivalent. I’ve never seen the following as much as I’ve seen the ones above:
“You only want to change the gameplay because you suck at it”
“You’re just a sheep to the trends”
And while I myself have had the formers thrown at me weekly and sometimes daily. I’ve never once used the latters in a weak attempt to dismiss someone’s preferences and justify my own.
