Why is it no-one just freezes POWs?

Honestly, why does no-one ever just plonk a captured Prisoner into a Cryotube? They’re never getting out, have no chance of harming anyone, and can be transported literally anywhere with a forklift truck.

Like, take for example, Jenkins from Halo: The Flood. Guy was in a “And I must scream” situation (Would have been a pretty different ending if Gorrister had just whipped out that massive gun he got from the airship and just blown everyone up), lashing out and trying to do himself in. Eventually, they even send two security guards around with him to make sure he can’t kill himself or anyone else. Why not just freeze him? Literally everyone benefits from this; Jenkins isn’t suffering any more, no resources or people have to be wasted, and it stops him trying to stab someone in the throat. There’s no reason they shouldn’t have cryo pods with them; not only were hundreds left in the POA, and in First Strike it’s shown that they can be jettisoned and still work. Seems like it’d be a great help if someone was seriously injured and needed to get to a doctor if there wasn’t one present.

So, yeah. In summary: why the hell aren’t cryogenics being used to freeze POWs?

No offense, but I think Jenkins is a bad example, from what I recall they’d already lost the Pillar of Autumn by the time he was infected. There was no where to get one that wasn’t already already surrounded by covenant or flood. Also, given their size, they’d take 3-4 people to lug around, they aren’t practical to use in the field.

That’s a really good point. Maybe it’s simply not cost-effective? We have no idea what goes into maintaining a cryo-tube.

Fair point about cost, but that’s probably not the case. I mean, considering how much it costs giving a prisoner foodage, sleeping quarters ect., and that the UNSC basically just give them to everyone during slipspace jumps (So presumably that’s due to it being cheaper and more effective than keeping them awake), it would probably be fair to assume that the cost would probably be cheaper and safer than any other alternatives.
