Why is it Cannon

Halo 5’s multiplayer is a massive step up from Halo 4’s trashy multiplayer, but it’s cannon. That makes absolutely no sense in any context. So why is it Cannon I just don’t understand that. It wasn’t cannon in Halo 4, wasn’t cannon in Reach, wasn’t cannon in 3. See what I’m getting at. Multiplayer was never cannon until Halo 5, so why is it Cannon in the first place?

Because 343 likes to tie everything into the lore. And actually it was canon in Halo 4. The War Games simulator. Ring any bells?

Right sorry.

It was cannon in 4 as well bro! And who cares if it’s cannon or not? How does it possibly change anything for you?

What’s wrong with it being canon? Its such a simple thing; somewhere on the Infinity there’s a big computer that Spartans use for combat training. Boom. Done.

It just doesn’t make sense in any context. And if 343 is trying to make everything cannon then why are books they have licensed aren’t?

Doesn’t really hurt anything. War Games are either Spartans training against each other or tackling potential threats like the Warden, Covenant and Prometheans in Warzone (along with Spartans).

How does it not make sense?
The books are canon.

If they can make a multiplayer that is canon (spelled C-A-N-O-N) and as good as Halo 5’s is, i see no reason not to.

It was a completely pointless thing to do, and a poor excuse to allow them to remove playable Elites from MP.

I don’t think that’s the reason they did it haha
I imagine in a world with smart AI with super soldiers in super suits, they can make a simulation for what its like to be an Elite. But that’s not a very good argument from my end, I just don’t think that’s why they made it canon.

Halo: Online also uses a War Games simulator and has real, SoS Elites, on Anvil Station. It is also canon.

There’s no way Halo Online is canon haha

Op,

cannon: a large, heavy piece of artillery, typically mounted on wheels, formerly used in warfare.

Canon: the generally accepted term for historical events or lore that is considered part of the over-arching continuity.

It is.

Ya spelled canon wrong…

But it wouldn’t make sense to “be” an Elite in a war preparation simulator.

Wasn’t Halo 4 canon as well? I’m pretty sure the multiplayer experience was titled “Infinity.”

I think this is just the road 343 wants to take with their franchise.

Yeah , Halo 4 was also canon. I don’t think having the multiplayer canon messes anything up, but I do still want to be an elite.

Unless you make it a joint training session between Spartans and SoS Elites. That’d work.
