WHY IS IT A GOOD THING IT'S NOT CALLED 6

If the name of Halo Infinite upcoming game stays this way without number in front it,this may mean a lot of good things.Firstly 343 can move away from some traditions Halo numbered games had and can do something complete new.For example all numbered games had about 8-12 missions in their Campaign,Multiplayer,Skulls,Forge. With Halo 5 there were some bigger changes made in terms of 4 player co op the whole Campaign and there were some missions where you could explore without fighting. And now with complete new engine the developers made Halo can evolve into something new again.I would like to see Campaign only Halo game with Multiplayer being in separated game. This way we could really see full potential of what a modern Halo Campaign can be.

I dont think that number would have been really a restriction. The numbers were just a thing to signify the games where Chief was the main character. And i would have hoped they would have kept that to the end even though its just a little thing.

ODST had number on it though it obviously had the ODST on it. As to why there is a number is perhaps because it was technically similar to Halo 3.

I’m thinking it will have numerous different game characteristics from the rest of Halo. It will continue Master Chief’s story but maybe shown in a different way. Perhaps more open like Destiny, but better? But mainly: I have no idea

From a business standpoint, it could be because seeing the number 6 in a game title might make it seem like the series is dragging and therefore draw less interest from the consumer base. They want less generic titles to make the product seem more original. That said, I think “Halo Infinite” is a bit of a weird name. Doesn’t roll off the tongue, probably because of the adjacent vowels.

I think if they kept using numbers the titles would get boring. Besides we know when and where it belongs in the series. :ok_hand:

LOL!!!Had to google what is a vowel.I think word Infinite could have something to do with theme of the game, maybe something involving Precursors or Forerunners.Honestly i have no clue.LOL!
