It’s about to become the top dog in the galaxy?
So it can all come crashing down baby! All of hell is about to break loose and humanity is going to go right back to fighting for its existance! Bring it.

Karen Traviss got to write a book is why.

I speculate humanity is going to lose everything except Infinity. Even Earth is doomed.

Don’t say that!, then humanity will end up like they did in Wall-e, all fat people hovering around on one big ship.

That movie scared me… lol

Under 343’s guidance, moving the series in a direction that corresponds with their vision. I get that people might not like her writing style, but the liberties she has been given in regards to actual plot is limited.

That really doesn’t matter since the damage has been dealt.

That depends on exactly how much freedom she’s given. I speculate that 343 gives the author a basic overview of what happens (Trevelyan opens, Halsey arrested, Jul captured, etc.), and they let the author deal with filling in the rest.
Any hint of “humanity is better than everyone else” likely comes just from Traviss.
Humans appear to be the top dogs because they are the top dogs. After the war, their species is the best off – all the other species are either disfunctional or relied heavily on the support of the other castes. The kig-yar are probably the second best off, but that might only be true of the space pirates we see – maybe their society is crumbling and the guys buying and selling just don’t care.
Honestly, though, I think the build up is so that it can be torn down. Infinity’s made out to be this invincible juggernaught of human prowess. Naturally, 343’s gonna have the thing go up in flames somewhere down the line.

I remember hearing about how the Titanic was ‘unsinkable’, than a chunk of ice took it down. Not sure, but 343 might be going with this theme. I think Infinity will be lost in Halo 5, or Halo 6 (I’d imagine by flood?)

It always struck me as incredibly stupid that the UNSC would pour a heap of Forerunner tech into one ship.
> Infinity’s made out to be this invincible juggernaught of human prowess.
It crash-landed and got invaded, then it almost crashed a second time, then an old lady managed to bypass the security using only two words, then it got invaded again, and then it nearly got shot into the sun.
Doesn’t sound invincible to me.

I agree with this statement… the author plays within the parameters laid out by the person signing the checks.
Plus, human ascendency is the logical next step… boom times always follow the conclusion of a big war. It’s the human way. I suspect it will last for a time before we become our own worst enemies again (insurrectionists).
If the Infinity is lost well…man that would just really, really, really, suck. Hope it would be lost in like an epic battle of some sort against Forerunner or Precursor ships.
The infinity will probably go out like the pillar of autumn, chief blowing it up in order to blow something else much bigger up.

As it should.
Second Human-Covenant war, anybody? The post-war galaxy kind of resembles Europe after the First World War, with the Allies trying to press Germany into oblivion just like Humanity is doing with the Elites. And we all know how the situation in Europe turned out.
Jul 'Mdama as -Yoink!-? I can see it.

Lol, hanging by a thread is the way to be!
