Why is Halo5 constantly dropping in population?

Please post a valid reason if you have one.

Halo 5 has again dropped in the most played Xbox One games. It is now at #12. Not even in the Top 10. And Halo 5 is the FLAGSHIP Xbox One title. I won’t sit here and claim I’m baffled, but just want to see if folks have legitimate reasons why this brand new title continues to sink and sink.

The days of halo2 and 3 being kings of console games are long gone my friend.

That does not answer the question.

There are SEVERAL games which ARE in the top 10 which have been out 3, 4 even 5x’s LONGER than Halo 5, yet Halo 5 keeps dropping lower and lower.

Because it’s not as casual,which I like.

are you trying to revive an old thread?

also we do not know exact numbers. So we can only assume. It could be people like me who play a mixture of many games

Because 343 doesnt give a -Yoink- about the population. they got our money…now its on to h6.

If I had to guess, Id point to the lack of gametypes/modes first. But then you have games like Fallout 4, Star Wars, Tomb Raider, CoD. All those games are big deals. Like the guy above said, the days of Halo being the console king are over. There’s a wide variety of choices out there.

An “old” thread? Did Halo 5 dip to the #12 spot before? It’s only been out 2-3 months. Maybe I missed something.

The excuse de jure is that Halo was never particularly good and it just didn’t have any competition before Halo 3. I’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions as to the implications of that argument.

It’s the lack of gametypes, the lack of diversity. Basically people who aren’t ‘hardcore’ have the same warzone maps which get boring after 20 minutes and the replay value is awful, and you have arena which again is just the same 3 gametypes that gets boring as hell after awhile. CoD has like 20 different gametypes.

Unlike Halo 4, I really do think that for the most part people like Halo 5. Aside from it’s campaign issues the game is great. I think that a lot of what drove people away is the lack of content, especially at launch. It was so bare bones at launch. No social playlists, no Forge, and a massive lack of fan favorite (and series standard) gametypes and playlists made it so the content we did get dried up quick. Here we are almost 3 months into the games life, and the updates that 343i are pushing out are, for the most part, full of fluff. New REQs and Forge maps shouldn’t be huge selling points to these updates, but aside from Forge, which should have been there at launch, that is all that we have gotten. Remixed maps are the cheapest way to do new maps that I have ever seen. It also doesn’t help that the game went up against Battlefront and Fallout 4.

There was a wide variety of choices in the days of Halo 2. Maybe even a greater variety since publishers back then weren’t afraid to push games that challenged the established mold like they are now.

The original Xbox has over a thousand titles for it. The Xbox One doesn’t even have half that number at the moment.

Why is Halo sinking? A combination of franchise fatigue, trying and failing to release alongside CoD, failing to deliver on necessary content, and failing to please its own core fanbase.

Exactly. I like it as well.

It’s weeding out all the cry baby kids that can’t keep up with the competition.

that’s bc instead of hire people and spend time and resources to make the game playable worldwide (not only USA), they made pizza AR

because its full of sweaty try hards who make every game competitive and unenjoyable for those of us who like to have fun and not boost our kd.

Because it does have as much content as content as halo 2 or 3 at launch and those games are 12 years old and 9 years old… Quite sad

I swear to god, someone says this every week ever since its release day.

SO WHAT!!?

I enjoy it and I will play it.

people prefer casual games, this is a competitive game where their is less people.

Population? You mean popularity? Where is the data posted?
