I fail to understand this. If i boot up reach i can play a smooth MP experience.
No sudden latent character movement or weirdness.
If i load up halo 4. Bam 3/4 games suffer some form of latency from bad to terrible.
The interesting thing is that on reach i have my network preferences set to fastest matchmaking. Not best connection.
So i am left puzzled. It’s affecting my ability to enjoy playing 4.
Any one have any theories?

Reach = Beta
Halo 4 = No Beta
Reach = Not much lag
Halo 4 = Huge Lag
halo 4 will match you with people across the world from you just as likely as they will match you with someone from your own town. most games try to keep it more local

Halo 3= Beta
Halo 3= Still has some bad lag, don’t even get me started on the grenades
Don’t put Halo 4 and Reach in a filthy toilet when Halo 3 has every right to be there to.

Halo 3 had the most enjoyable Multiplayer in my opinion.
But yeah I agree, it has some lag from time to time but it isn’t that bad.

I had excellent connection and most of the time I would have to wait 2 seconds for a grenade to actually be thrown. As well as Avalanche having Falcons popping (no, literally popping) around the sky. I think there it has more to do with the netcode, but from most of the people on these forums say, this shouldn’t be coming from a AAA game.
Though agreed, Halo 3 is a really great game. BTB and Lone Wolves were my fav playlists. Got almost all of the achievements except Overkill. I’m just saying he shouldn’t bring up the beta argument when Halo 3 has pretty bad lag and also had a beta. HEll, I think it had 2 betas!
“Halo 3= Beta Halo 3= Still has some bad lag, don’t even get me started on the grenades”.
Only thing here is that Halo 3 is ancient now. It is perfectly reasonable for it to have more lag than either one of these two games.
It’s basically true that games in a series get better networking and become a more enjoyable experience in that regard, but no local preferences really hamper that here.
I just don’t understand why this game is lacking so much refinement.
Im from spain. 7.2 up/0.62 down +70m/s ping.
For me JIP is terrible…
Im playing a game with good net but one guy leave other guy in and… Lag is here!! Not ever but lots of times and i know when population down lag problems up.
And H4 only have people in IS BTB SWT CRIMSON and any challenge list.
I havent big problems on H3 (only last months of game) and Reach was better, I can play Reach good yet.
