Why is halo 5's User interface so Bad? (IN DEPTH)

The Act man has made an In-depth video explaining why Halo 5’s User interface is BAD!
He took the words right out of my mouth and it really goes to show all the work the 343 UI team need to pull off
In order to fix the conundrum that is Halo 5’s UI!

In-Depth Video (The Act man)

I know we aren’t a minority almost everyone can agree that the UI NEEDS an overhaul!

It’s not gonna happen in this game unfortunately. :expressionless:

But we’ve been getting updates on the UI with the monthly updates

-Expanded colors
-Organization of Game modes and maps
-Mute all Button
-SR rank visible with fireteams when in the game screen
-Spartan Rank Progress bar added
-Active Roster overhaul including whether friends are online, joinable, spectable.etc
-REQ cards now display their rarity when your browsing them
-Players can now see equipped customization items from Spartan Appearance, Spartan ID, and Weapon Skins rather than going to each individual menu screen
-Unopened REQ packs and amount of REQ points visible during Intermission and the Lobby
-Better Fireteam Sorting
-Your Fireteam is now HIGHLIGHTED GREEN in-game
-Added Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary color options for emblems
-Other player’s SR progress now updates correctly on the large nameplate in the PGCR**-Fixed delay and message prompt when attempting to leave a lobby****-Improved performance during the processing and opening of REQ packs**All of these have been added so far

SO YES there is hope for the UI team to be able to fix all, if NOT most atleast of the problems pointed in the video

they are aware of this issue but refuse to acknowledge to the public that they have, i mean bravo always says the UI team is aware of feedback yet never does he mention our major concerns not even once!! instead gives us updated color pallettes for our spartans like when did anyone ask for that? and why prioritize such update when the UI’s major flaws are not even near spartan customization?

I really hope that the UI team watches this video. They need to smarten up or Halo will never challenge other top AAA titles in terms of Quality and following improvement to quality, it"s popularity.

So an UI decides whether a game is a tripple A title? My gawd …

Better than Halo 4’s UI. I think Halo Reach’s UI was best because it was combination of Halo 3 with Halo 2’s friend list side bar and nice color scheme.

Great video! And yeah, it addressed several of the issues that I and many others have complained about here for months on end. Such as not being able to back out of matchmaking - what the hell! I’ve had to quit to dashboard before, because it just wouldn’t let me quit.

And the REQ menus are laggy as hell in the game, I want an option to hide the REQs that I don’t use or have level presets.

The “mute all” button has to be the biggest joke though, as this is actually intended as a “fix”. It’s right up there with 343s patch on Griffball… that still lets people use the turret. Honestly, I’ve never come across such an incompetent company. Although we have to remember that 343 is Microsoft, the company that finally added an “up arrow” to their file explorer after several decades, but removed the much used start menu, only to put it back again after sales tanked. Sigh… anyhow, what good is a “mute all”? I don’t want the entire team to be muted, just the annoying people who leave their kinects on while their kids shout or they chat on the phone.
