Because then you’d have even less incentive to buy an xbone and the MCC. I had thought that was impossible until I read your post, but here we are.

A lot of older games DLC’s still aren’t free. Even Halo 3’s.

yes but that was a bungie title, halo 4 is 343i original,
343i really needs to comment on this, and if if they have any plans on halo 4 dlc re-release, halo 4 would be much better enjoyed if everyone could play the maps with no restrictions.

EA is responsible for Titanfall and Respawn, not Activision. They made the DLC free because of how low of a population the game had so they didn’t want to separate the extremely population.
Most game’s DLC aren’t made free even years after release because they aren’t updating that game anymore. Could 343i surprise us and do it? Yes but the chances are low especially with MCC containing almost everything from previous Halo games, including the DLC for the price of one triple A game.

All the DLC for Halo 4 is on the MCC, so they wouldn’t need a DLC only playlist.
Halo 5’s DLC comes in free to download updates, so everybody has the DLC, again, not requiring DLC only playlists.
I don’t want me start an argument but Halo 5’s dlc is adding maps and gamemodes that “should” have been there during launch. Halo 1,2,3,4 all had many maps at launch, and all the gamemodes, while Halo 5 , after 3 months, is still lacking. Needless to say, the gamemodes will come back, but it would have been much better if they were present at launch.
Whether it was bungie or 343 at the end of the day its owned by Microsoft always has been. Doesn’t matter who made it. At the time they were made bungie was owned by Microsoft.

Eventually they will shut down the servers for it, but not a mear 3 years after release!

Um, yes it did? a lot of weapon/armor skins you had buy as part of action figures or exclusive to retailer preorders which was total bs.

They are technically 2 seperate games. People who play halo 4 on 360 are not playing with people on xb1

Its not free for them, they bought a copy of the MCC.
