Why is Halo 5 so co-op heavy?

I just think that it’s kind of ironic that this is the first Halo game to really encourage cooperative playthroughs of the campaign, however it doesn’t support any other way to play co-op other than online. I know that splitscreen wasn’t possible with the whole 60fps lock, that for some reason the frame rate is tied to the engine or something like that. What are your thoughts on the team based campaign as well as the lack of spiltscreen?

I am VERY greatful the co-op campaign is finally drop in drop out. Its about dang time. However, I really wish we could play the co-op campaign online with randoms like we could in Reach.

Disagree the game was created the sp with the filosophy of Social and Friendly, heavy communication is required and strategy (at least should)

You contradicted yourself. With your theory, “Social” would mean the ability to play with randoms if we were able to play and communicate with randoms. It would be a social experience. Instead of a private experience with friends.

I don’t think I’d say its co-op “heavy”. No split screen and no matchmaking “randoms”. You have to be invited or join on your own. I don’t care for the campaign other than my first play through before I touch multiplayer but I just don’t feel like h5 is necessarily co-op focused on campaign.
