Dark Souls 2 was rated Teen which should tell you all you need to know about how much ESRB ratings matter.
In my opinion Halo should not have been M in the first place- The only gore is flood and its not that bad (taking flood out made t?). There is not much blood and not too bad swearing. I doubt they are toning down too much stuff… Its just smart that they are making it teen. Also putting it to teen it makes it so it can gather a younger community.
Weren’t all the Arkham games except for Arkham Knight rated T and they were all pretty -Yoinking!- great. It’s dumb how people assume a game will be “soft” based off of the ESRB.
“Oh no the extremely mild M-rated game isn’t rated M anymore”. There’s still blood, violence and mild language, so it really isn’t different. Besides, hopefully this means more people will be able to get the game and boost player numbers.

Giving it a Teen rating is not going to make it worse. Relax dude.

Truth. I play through now and am like, "I seen games more violent then this Rated T, Why is halo M
This has to be one of the most immature, and frankly stupid, comments I’ve read in a while.
A game has to somehow be over-the-top violent and get that “mature” rating seal of approval in order to be good?
The rating is just fine. Halo’s story should be experienced by people of all ages.
think as halo as a movie would it be rated R no it would be rated PG 13 it is no more violent then a marvel or DC movie

Alan wake doesnt sell gangbusters like Halo does. A better comparison is Destiny is also T.

I was making to comparison because alan wake is the darkest of between those 3 games and it is still rated T.
