First off, this arguement has been brought up with the previous Halo games including Halo 2, 3 and Reach. And I agree with those passed thread on passed forums. However
Id like to point out, Halo 4 is Rated T for Teen.
Why its Rated M:
-Theres guns
-Theres SOME blood
-Theres…Aliens?
-They wanted to sell the forbidden fruit of Rated M so kids can buy
I cant think of anything else
Why its NOT Rated M:
-You cant shoot a grunt/Elite to have blood splatter on the ground to make an imprint
-Blood only comes out from where something was hit and into the air and evaporates, doesnt even go into the wall
-theres no cursing. You call scientist “Eggheads” but you don’t call Palmer a b i t c h
-no dismemberment from explosions
-nothing explicit, racy cutscenes
Personally, I think Halo 4 is a disgrace to the Rated M Genre, let alone the Halo Franchise
Anyway, Halo has always been mature even though it’s tamer than most shooters. All CE had was blood, it’s not a big deal. Not to mention the colossal -Yoink–fest that would converge on the forums if suddenly Halo 4 was “teen”. We’d never hear the end of it. Plus it’s not up to them, bring it up with the ESRB.

Then you would know that it was quite horrifying. Not exactly a game for kids. And I love the way you just threw in mindless hate into your response instead of trying to back up your point. Halo 4 is rated M for mature because it’s for mature people. Unlike some people on these forums.

exactly, if your afraid of the ranting by fans, why wouldnt 343?

The ESRB chooses the rating of a game, it doesn’t matter what 343 thinks or fears.

Correction to your post: MOST people on these forums

Game devs will have a pretty good idea of what the ERSB will rate as ‘T’ and what they will rate as ‘M’.
This also happens prior to the game going gold, does it not? The devs have a chance to change the game if they don’t get the rating they were hoping for. I could be wrong, though.

We can go on with this, and theres something I have in mind with guns and blood but rated T for the first 3 games, but I might get flamed for it…
But seriously, you slit people’s necks, break their necks, stab people in the face and so on. Would a T rated game really have that?
