Why is everything depending on the status of XBL?

So, basically, the servers are down, again(!), what a surprise. Meaning that there is; No custom games, No forge and No theater (no multiplayer either obviously). This is quite frankly stupid. That’s a huge downgrade from previous installations in the Halo Franchise. Why, just why aren’t these huge staples of Halo available offline?

I’d also like to rant about MCC still being broken, and Halo 5 not yet finished, five months after release, but those are subjects for another time.

At least I can sit in the main menu of Halo 5 and listen to the beautiful soundtrack.

Stop being so impatient it’s coming soon! #sarcasim

You sound so entitled. H5 is finished.

Yeah its awful

Are you serious? Really can’t tell. Halo 5 launched without forge and lacked gametypes, still is. I wouldn’t say that’s being entitled. Am I entitled for wanting a completed game at launch? You do realise that parts of this “free dlc” is content that didn’t make it for the launch?

Is that a joke? Seems sarcastic.

He’s gotta be kidding or delusional.

Player: 343 why did you make forge be required to be online? I like forging by myself and I always get booted from my own lobby
343: We don’t care that you keep getting booted we already got your money… *thug life music starts here

Who are you to decides when 343 says the glass if full? DLC has always been planned and partially completed before launch. The game has to be completed months before release . What do you expect them to do , not work on DLC?

I’m not delusional I’m just a realist.

Lacking gametypes does not constitute an unfinished game. They released their game the way they wanted to. If 343 says it’s done then it’s done end of story.

sure you can play offline, just a rather disappointing campaign…

I’m playing the campaign right now lol. So many threads from Halo 4 that was completely ignored. Really is a shame, Halo 4 had a great story imo, Halo 5, not so much.

It’s your kinda thinking that justifies companies selling unfinished products. This hurts all customers. Why do you care so much about 343? They don’t care about you, they’re in it for your money.

What about those who hold halo to the standard previously set? I could sell you a new halo and all you get is a menu screen, yet I say it’s done, thus it’s done right? Follow the logical extreme.

xbox one in general doesn’t work offline

If it’s known that all you have is a title screen and I still choose to buy your product then I got what I paid for.

Well, with no split screen, custom games wouldn’t be any good offline but I do agree that Forge and Theatre (for games saved locally) would be nice and shouldn’t be too much to ask for.

It wasn’t known what gametypes we had in at launch. We knew playlists, sure, but as fanboys were so quick to remind us 6 months ago, Halo games always launch with a small number of playlists so that any problems can be worked out before they shift focus to expansion. We had no way of knowing we were getting played.

I can’t help but feel a bitter sense of vindication. I called it, OP.

Oh, I see your argument now. Opinion discarded. Intentionally sparse is still sparse, so Halo 5 is either unfinished or it never had enough content to begin with. Either way, you’re splitting hairs.

I understand your rationale, consumer responsibility. Yet this is halo, if it doesn’t come equal in content to the previous it’s a bummer, if it’s less it is less of a game , hence the not complete argument. Did you experience h2 and 3 back in the day. Heck reach kept building on the base set from the previous game. Expect more from the brand not less.
