Why is everyone is a "kid" in game chat?

Yeah ill come down to my dads after 2 weeks of not playing and suck because I haven’t played in so long

Cause it sounds better than saying, “Look at these adults.”

It’s a derogatory term, but I also think most people assume that young people are playing video games and not their parents so saying kid sounds more appropriate.

lol Why is this even a forum post?

Lately in the MCC most people that are vocal sound like their in the late teen or early 20’s And their annoying. Half of them use some of the dumbest words or slang to sound like their a tough guy. Don’t get me wrong I’m 29 and I’ve been on Xbox Live since 2002 but I have to say it wasn’t like this 10 years ago. There is definitely a gap with English Vocabulary between people born before the early 90’s and before that and people from the mid 90’s and after. Thank goodness for party chat.

Ill be on today

Ok well I’m starting a new trend. Instead of every player blanketly being called kid, I’m now referring to all other players as pineapples.

Just general problems. It’s not really what the problem is, it’s more so how the problem is solved and what steps you took to solve it.

I am a kid so, like, ( ノ ゚ー゚)ノ

As long as people are communicating, I don’t care what they sound like. Sure, squeakers are a little loud. But if they are cool and call out, I’m ok. I’d much rather have a “kid” playing and talking than someone with no mic.

Simple question that’s because all the cod kids have found halo 6 to be very cartoony and colourful the end.

the reason for such behavior could become from many reasons like the usual high voice of the ones that use mics in the games, the skill level of the players in the game or the acting in the game for example. The loudest people in the game sound usually like kids and the ones that act mature and have adult voice arent usually noticed as easily and the ones that dont use mics arent usually noticed even that much for its harder to think of them as the person given their appearance is only determined by their in-game acting, sure there is some noticeable people that dont use mic but those are rarer and its easier to notice high voiced kids than the silent mature people. So that means the usual people who call players kids could get the impression that the loud immature individuals are the norm so they start to generalize the community given the picture that comes from the reasons above.
its not that much about the number as it is from the picture people get.

Anyone under 18 I would call a kid. But I get called a kid almost tbe time and I could certainly be the dad to a lot of these “kids”

I agree, I’m 21 years of age and I’m getting called a kid, by a 5 year old and to be honest it’s really stupid.

Because they came from CoD

> Yeah i agree…They just want more people to buy there game, but imho war should have blood and aftert this thread i realized they reduced the gore in halo 5 to basically nothing at all i dont think humans even bleed at all…

Yep no blood at all from humans… don’t know if jackals elites or grunts have it either I know hunters do but that may be the only one sadly.

> You have people to talk to while playing - I am jealous - I never have anyone with headsets on while I am playing - no wait I did yesterday it was someone talking to their roommate the whole time about their life

About a month ago there was a guy doing his telemarketing/IT support calls as he was playing. I thought that was strange and hilarious.

That’s Why I Don’t Have A Mic.But I Certainly Be Called A “Kid” And I Do Pretty Bad(Sometimes)

But There Are Rare Occasions That I do Something Awesome Which You “Pros” Find Boring.

But Still a “Kid”
